Well that is highly unfortunate information.

I shared the same experience with Josh and Mr. Shiny & New.

In Singapore, the Viking chess sets only have a few parts glued mentioned by them.

I am very sure that the minifigs are not glued at all.

In my opinion this is the worst of all the Chess sets. Other Chess sets are partly glued as well, but in this case every single minifig was glued. And since glueing a thousand figs for ... (let me reckon)... a lot of copies of this set must be quite a piecework, the actual craftmansship was poorly executed. Helmets are crooked (and you can't correct that), horns in the helmets are weird adjusted (can't correct that) and I spotted fingerprints in the dryed glue. So at least I'm able to nail the culprits!

Also the variation of minifigs you get with this set is not too exciting. Only three kinds of torsos are a bit boring. And since they are all glued you can't even replace legs and heads for variation. And I'd have liked blonde hair for the Viking queens, rather than the usual grey hair.

The best parts in this set are the unique shields.

I don't want to quote you out of context.

I’m surprised by your position on this set; it was my favorite of all the chess sets.

I know you don't think much of the well used term army builder but that is what I think chess is; two opposing armies.

For me the other two chess sets contain ether to many jelly bean knights or skeleton knights to reflect armies I am interested in playing with.

For me this consideration outweighs all others.

If you know I'm not an army builder, then why are you surprised? ;-)

For me it doesn't. ”Glued!“ is the main argument for me. Glue makes all Lego useless, no matter how great it would have been without being glued.
And even if a large number of minifigs (for building an army or whatever) is a nice thing to have, I can't disregard what those minifigs look like. And to me the figs from the Viking Chess look just plain boring. (And they are glued! So no chance to reassemble them and get better variation.)
And: In my book Vikings are likely not the type of army that comes uniformed and in file. Plus: Why would they fight each other? They would rather plunder some real enemy. Here the main failure within the whole Viking line had its effect: There were no human enemies.

I purchased my copies from bricklink stores located in Singapore they had minimal glue as posted elsewhere in this thread.

Thanks
