I agree! My new favorite!

BTW, Forestboy, what is your location?

I would have to say the flare helm, but I might change to the great helm, I'll have to see.

I know that his is not quite Lego but, I would have to say the great helm from brickforge. I saw a close up of the new Lego great helm and it looks terrable. The just have one big eye slit going across the helmet instead of do two eye slits, one for each eye. Ah, well at least we have brickforge. :)

Put me down for the Shadow Knight helm. I love how it fits with the plate armour. I like the shadow knights but once I saw that helm paired with black plate armour I geared up all my shadow knights and their nice red shirts were hidden.

In second place, I guess I'd vote for the pointy visor. My main problem with it is that it's so huge. But you can mix and match visor and helm colours plus add lots of plumes.

I never really liked the grille helm but now I guess I rank it just below the bullet and flared helms. These helms are useful for armies, and you don't want to be without them, but we are talking "favourites" here, and my favourite characters are always heroes or otherwise distinct from the grunts in the army.

I hope this is acceptable. It is in fact castle headgear.

If not I have to say I really like this one.

I like the flair helm, the helmet with chinstrap and wide brim (kettle helm) and the bullet helm. on some factions I really like the shadow knight helm. I would really like the viking helm if it didn't have the horn holes.

Pretty tough call....

Probably have to be either:

1. Helmet with pointed visor
2. Dragon Helmet
3. Helmet with noseguard and neck protection (not sure what to call it :tasty: )

Of course, there are a ton of great helmets, and I'd probably choose others if I had them....

My top five favorite LEGO helmets are:

#1: The pointy visor helm... When those came out, I literally was dancing with joy (especially since you could get them relatively cheaply in the #6009-1 Black Knight set... My biggest single regret of giving away almost all of my sets during my first Dark Age was losing those helmets (and when they included it in the new Kingdoms Advent Calender, I of course had to buy one).

#2: The Morion from the Imperial Armada... I've long been a fan of 15th-17th century history (an area not normally covered by LEGO), and really like how the Morion looks.

#3: The new Great Helm (although, personally, I like the Brickforge Great helms better than the official LEGO ones), because it is the single most awesome helmet from the medieval period, IMO.

#4: The Kettle Helm, because it is not only historically accurate, but it also can be used for more than just Castle stuff (I've seen it used quite a bit in Steampunk MOCs)

#5: The Dragon Helm: It's just perfect for some evil Nazgul types. :D

I love the kettle helm, but my personal favorite is a clone helmet painted gray or black, and cut straight down from both ends of the eyehole to make it open-faced. It looks realistic, and it's something different.

For me, the Kettle helm stands on a glorious pedestal, along with the great helmet. For a later era, the pointy visor (bascinet with hounskull or armet) would do great.

I really don't like the helmet with the weird neckguard, almost all aventails would fall quite straight down. The grill helm is also not one of my favourites, it's historical use is too limited.

What I would really like is a nice sallet and bevor combination.

I personally like the dragon helms, they're perfect for the Kingdoms Dragons. The pointed visor is also quite nice, as is the bullet helm, and (hate me if you will) I like the noseguard helm very much.

I don't really have a favourite since all my troops need their helmets to do different jobs, for example could you see an archer with full, visored helmet on?

I think if I was made to give away all but 1 type of helmets that I have (firstly I would cry) then keep my pointy visors...they came out when I was young and with the visor down they transform a happy smiley lego face into one mean looking knight/soldier - plus you can put so many plumes on them.

Long time since I have posted here.

Anyways, the nasal helmet is by far my favorite. But the great helm is close behind, but I prefer the BrickForge great helms, but they seem a tad too small in comparison with other LEGO helmets.

I like the shadow helmet. It looks very good on skeletons but not as much on trolls.
