I like the face they used on the dark green knight. I hadn't managed to snag that one from the Agents line yet.

I think the other guy is new. He's got a pretty good looking face too.

Apart from the figures there isn't much to say about this set. Though did we really need another catapult piece?

Hey,

I'm not a huge fan of the darker torso now seeing it up close - the chains look a little silly IMO. I'm glad to see that the torsos are both double-sided though. And man, that helm looks awesome. Catapult is okay as far as that goes - I do like the wheels. I have to agree, why make a new mold for a catapult?

I do agree that the dragon knight is a bit heavy on the chainage... I would like that scale mail very much if the chains weren't included.

The front and back printing is fantastic. I am glad for this change with minifigs. I like the face printing and the new great helm is very nice. The weapons in the dark metallic are a welcome sight. A shield for the dragon knight would have been a nice addition.

I find the tiny catapult and weapons stand decent designs. I certainly like the wheels on the catapult. The part selection is great and I find all of those small pieces very useful. I love all of the plates that we get and some choco brown slopes as well.

The new bucket for the catapult may not have been totally necessary, but considering the old one...

well... maybe it was necessary. The old version was way too big for most applications. The smaller one will look much better especially when TLG puts catapults right on the castle walls. And we all know how TLG likes catapults on those castles. I noticed that the fulcrum is very close to the bucket on this new part. We will only be able to make small catapults with the new piece. I am not quite sure if another use for this part has been found but it should be easier than MOCing with the old one.

I would give this set a 4 out of 5 mostly for the figs and good part selection.

That helmet looks really awesome. And i also like that both torsos are double-sided. Of course, all those catapults are getting a little bit eh... (but i like the wheels on this one). But... where did he get the set from? i didnĀ“t think they were being sold anywhere yet?

The torso does look a little superhero-y. I'm hoping it will look better in person. The colors in the photos seem off.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the double sided torsos. I'd rather they took the effort and expense of doing that and put it towards printed parts rather than stickers.

The catapult piece is the same one that appears in Battle of Alamut. I believe the idea behind the smaller piece is to limit the distance a child can launch legos from it. It also limits children to a 1x1 size (or less) of projectile.

I like the new dark toros. They would be good for steampunk armor.

Well if we were to go along that line of thinking, then why make catapults at all? So far as I have ever been to tell, the absolutely only reason for having the catapult is to give the set some "action" and "playability" (insert copious amounts of eye rolling). I mean, they sure don't add catapults for asthetics or for the great build. So why then make it less launchable? Granted, when comparing them to the pot catapults like on King's Castle Siege, it doesn't take much to improve on.

Okay, I got my catapult rant in, I'm good for another month or two.

As far as being the small, cheap (relatively speaking) set that gives you two figs as a sample for the rest of the line, it's about typical.

Setting aside the anticipation of getting sets from this theme, I think this set will be a great army builder. The only negative is not including a shield for the Dragon knight. I am confident that I will be buying quite a few of these.

Hmmm...not really a review as it is a preview, but hey, I'll take what I can get. Anyway, I'm defiantly getting this set. The shield is a bit of an upset, but oh well. Pretty cool, can't wait for the sets. :woo:

This is a worry....

So far I can't find any problems with the new line. Looks like I'm going to have to buy them all. .. and multiples of this one.
My poor bank account. :D

Im pretty happy about the Prison Carriage Rescue. Its the cart with 3-4 figures I have been clamouring for for quite a while: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=11614 These are the make or break sets for me, since with two children, I will be buying the $3-$15 dollar sets as stocking stuffers and good behavior rewards (of course I will need to buy at least one of each for myself to make sure they work properly).

I love the new prison cart! While the cart itself isn't very special, the figs are amazing! You get new figs, a new (and awesome) great helm and the new horse barding in a small, cheap set :)

Both of these sets are ones I will get multiples of. Gotta trade the lion guys for more dragons though to even out the armies.
