Re: Review: 2010 Kingdoms advent calendar
I got this advent calendar last week, and I must say, it is the best one I ever had from Lego. I really like the content.

I've ordered one of these for a laugh - seriously though there are some great figs in it

For those of you who are like me and are waiting to open them the 'proper' way, the wait is nearly over! I am getting really excited to see what the little models are. I have been careful not to peek around, so it will be a suprise for me (That inventory at the top kind of ruined it a bit, IMO)

I think this set is cool; I just have a hard time spending $35 on 167pc.

You're lucky they are sold out and gone where I come from. I used to love opening these things up when I was younger and still would now. Imagine everyday a little Lego set! Its one of the greatest feelings as a little kid.Athos wrote:Yay! I get to start opening mine tomorrow!

Opened #4 and was rewarded with a bonus flail
...and on another note, I think it's an outrage that the Advent calendar isn't a true Advent calendar. We're being robbed of 3 whole days of Lego this year. I demand more Lego

Wow! Is all I can say, I waited till my birthday to open it and opened it by the side, to build everything on the fly.
It has so many extra parts! (~20/30) I had two extras of the dark metallic softsword.
No pinkitus, but my smith has a painting issue and the servant is quite green on her torso.
The tap for the barrel no longer has a hole to put a feather in it, wonder if it is an evolution or a QC issue.
More later, I had to go to work.

Re: Review: 2010 Kingdoms advent calendar
I purchased the Kingdoms Advent Calendar about a month ago and I am really very pleased with the selection of pieces/ parts. First the minifigs: Starting with the best, the Lion caste Queen, a Lion Prince, a new Majisto, a blacksmith, bawdy wench (how else could one describe her?), a lion archer and soldier in war hat, a dragon knight in a great helm and a skeleton with the old arms without the evil skellie face.
As for other great bits, there is another anvil and forge set, a practice dummy, a suit of armor, a roasting pot, apple, owl on a sapling, mini catapult, arms stand and prison wall, as well as a treasure chest. Best of all, it includes a red throne, a sword in the stone and most of all, the first pig in the medieval sets!!! All in all a great parts set.
Enjoy and happy holidays to all,

My servant also had the same torso issue. Upon closer inspection, that same torso that appeared in the Medieval Market set had the same issue as well! It didn't seem to be quite as dark green as the one from the advent calendar though.Papy.G wrote:No pinkitus, but my smith has a painting issue and the servant is quite green on her torso.

Darn. The problem is that they're using cheap or thin paint that is not adequately covering up the black torso with yellow. I had hoped that this was improved for the advent calendar so I could finally get a good copy of that torso. Extremely disappointed to hear it has gone the opposite direction.

Re: Review: 2010 Kingdoms advent calendar
It is pretty disappointing. I actually never noticed the problem with the torso in the Medieval Market set until I compared the two.
Rogue, you can think about it like I do and imagine that she has her shoulders and neck covered with a black silky, slightly see-through fabric that makes her skin look darker. It's a stretch but whatever helps you carry on, eh?

It's more complicated that that.Highwayman wrote:It is pretty disappointing. I actually never noticed the problem with the torso in the Medieval Market set until I compared the two.

I'm dumping my current GF, the forestwoman, for a chick using that torso, and I can't find one with yellow skin! So frustrating! People are going to start calling me Shatner if I'm seen with a green chick.
EDIT:
Now that I'm caught up, the woman in my advent calendar was printed better than the really green-skinned torso I got with my Medieval Market village. However, the pirate woman using that same torso from the Pirates Advent Calendar is the yellowest. Amazing how many different levels of quality can be found on the same part in such a short timespan.

I did not go back and read all posts on this thread, but my Lion Castle Guard figure has nice White squares on his chest, and not "pink" ones like on my other figs....

I really like that there've been plenty of extra weapons and even an extra quiver...but my lion knight has pinkitus. At least my tavern wench turned out ok...was really hoping to get a good one after my MMV one was a...bust.
