I don't really care about the flat bottoms, but the softer plastic kind of reweds it for me. The main reason that I was exited about the new pitch fork is it just seamed so classic castleish, but with softer plastic it just wouldn't be the same :(

I'm so relieved that my I can still use my pitchforks to show people how awesome I am!

More seriously, I suspected the end of the handle was flat. Thanks for the confirmation. I'm disappointed in the change of plastic. Exactly how disappointed will have to wait until I get some.
