I liked the Shadow knight helmets, the Scorpion heraldry, the reintroduction of Euro Armor, and best of all the heads of the minifigs. These were some of the first heads to have pupil eyes and I have since found myself liking them better than the classic ones.

I really liked the large number of these pieces...

They are very helpful when building creatures, like dragons and large humanoid monsters (troll, ogre etc...)

I would also like to add that I love the minifig Vladek mask, and some of the "jelly bean" armors as well...thanks...

When KK2 was released, Castle was in a bit of a dry spell, so I bought some due to a lack of alternatives. I rather thoroughly hated KK2. Yes, the Vladek barding was okay, and I use the Rascus face on my avatar. The shadow knights were alright aside from the repeating faces.

However, the sets were so bad that it was hardly worth buying any of them for a few cool bits. The crown knights were much better and brought us the greatest civilian castle set ever, and the Kingdom series is just pure awesome combining multiple human factions and some great civilian sets.

Honestly, the only thing the last few years have done is remind me how bad KK2 was, because it's been severely outclassed by everything since.

Rogue22,
While I think no one here considers KK2 better than, equal to, or remotely comperable to the crownies or Kingdoms, I think that there were definitely parts of it that castle is better with than without. You yourself mentioned your use of the Rascus face, and honestly I think all the faces in KK2 were pretty good (I use the Santis face for all kinds of 30-40 year old figs). The crownies made use of several KK2 items such as the shadow knight helm and speckled silver armour for the skellies, and the horse helmets and Rascus face for the crownies themselves.

Boses, I forgot about those, they actually are kinda useful (though not $10 big ugly knight useful). After seeing that I may have to try something with those (sadly I bought a Santis back in the day  ).

As mentioned before the Scorpions are amazing! i love them and have turned them into a merc faction!

Horse armour is decent, and was a huge improvement over the dragon headed monstrosities of Fright Knights. Personally I think i'd use them over the current Kingdoms armour if they were metallic.

I personally use the jayko and Santis (santis is the bear right?) visors on my kings royal guard for crownies and lions. I like them and they distinguish the guard from everyone else.

I was young and poor at the time these came out so i was thankful to finally have castle lego's for once in my life (i only had had one fright knight set before kk2) so it was nice to get something. Looking back the were crud, but to a ten year old boy with an imagination they were the best toy ever.

KK2 also gave me my favourite figure ever, the tower guardian. With a trans Yellow Spear! Sadly i gutted him and made him into an odin for my Norse Pantheon.

Thankfully I entered my dark ages during the third wave of these...came out for the crownies castle and went straight back in till about a month before Kingdoms.

I refuse to say anything about KKII on the grounds that it may incriminate me.
Honestly though, no matter how much I hated it, it did have a few good sets and usually even the most horrid set contains a plethora of really great parts to use elsewhere.

The helmets and shadow knight torsos were all I like; along with the bardings, these are all I have actually kept. I don't much like black for anything including weapons, so not much is left of my starting collection!

Well, as I own maybe 10 sets from KK2, I will say what I can.

The shields of these sets were alright, I don't like how they were milky white and not old gray/bley (KK2 sets were around during the time of change, right?). But they made for great difference for heraldry. While I don't use the octagonal shield, I see them working as a pavise for crossbow men. The helms, well, were a hit or a miss. I like the Shadow Knight helm, works well for the "evil" stereotypical knight. Also with the helmets, Vladek's visor is very "evil" as well. The purple knight (don't remember the name) had a great helmet, had it come in a different color than speckled silver or purple it would be very useful. While I don't use the octagonal shield, I see them working as a pavise for crossbow men. Also, I believe the "Viking" sword was introduced in this era, which can be used for a claymore or, of course, a Viking sword. The set designs were absolutely horrendous, so I won't go into those since I can't find any good parts.

And that is all i have to say about KK2. Hopefully a line this silly and poorly designed won't ever come out again, but we can only hope for now. :)

I was one of very few on here who defended this line at the time of its release. Clearly little has changed, and in recent years it seems to have even become somewhat traditional for 'real' fans to dismiss the line, so I won't descend into another debate on the matter.

Personally I liked it for what it was - a bright, funky, slightly camp world. It resurrected 'euro armour' after an absence of over ten years, and its reasonable success paved the way for the more appreciated sets from 2007 onwards. Yes, many of the set designs were ridiculous, but surely this could be said for many sets in other lines. The colours were excessively applied, and the swords oversized, but I don't think these problems are quite as bad as has been made out.

Well, it was there for a few years, and now it's long gone. Some Castle fans liked it, many hated it. What else can we say about it?

I have to say, I liked the colorfulness of kk1 and 2 but my favorite parts were the head's faces and those swords each knight got (I prefer the silver ones  ) and those pike/spears were cool

I have stayed out of this thread because in all honesty, I don't have much positive to say about KK2. It came at a time when I was really really really wanting some amazing castle sets and it was a total downer. The ONLY things I like and count worth keeping from that line were the Shadow Knights and their accessories. They are my second favorite faction and my bad guys.

What about Battle at the Pass? I thought it was a pretty respectable set with some interesting figs and heraldry.

Well, for me it wasn't until I saw the Crown faction of 2007 that I saw the potential of the KK2 figures. When I first saw the KK2 figures and tried to fit them in with the KK1 and earlier factions, it didn't go well. Square peg into round hole type thing. I was just as displeased as most everyone else. But then when the Crown Knights came out it made more sense to separate KK2 and the Crown Knights into a new area (as in on a different planet). The green and baby blue knights became two different factions of elves. The later KK2 stuff like the golden armor with the white bird/eagle on it became a separate faction. Another faction is the Unicorn, another is "Slytherin", etc. I was suprised that I could find value out of that KK2 period, but then when the box says LEGO on it, nothing is impossible - the only limits are your imagination. (well of course the limits of money, space to build, unimaginative girl friends, etc, etc.) :spin:

In my opinion, the best part of KK2 was a tie between the Shadow Knight helmets and this torso:

Classic! (for me, wife ;))
