I'm leaning the same way, medieval guy. Those two sets don't interest me nearly as much as the rest. (though) I wouldn't mind adding a gray wizard to my ranks.

I really like 9469 Gandalf Arrives but I wish Bagend or some sort of Hobbit home would be included for Frodo. I think the set is empty without it. None of the other sets interest me whatsoever.

Well, when you figure the "Gandalf" set is going to probably be the least expensive of all of them, they had to leave something out of it to keep it at that price point :)

I don't think we should worry about not getting a Bag End set in this first run. I am sure they will come out with a Bag End set later on.
You would rather be building right now.

Probably very likely in the wave of Hobbit movie based sets, as opposed to the plain LOTR ones.

I was very pleased to see the full HD photos of the sets.

The Weathertop set in particular has a nice internal structure and a lot of spare weapons. The gladius and greatsword are being made in new colors in this set. I like the inclusion of a bit of food as well.

The rest of the sets are fantastic and I am really looking forward to the release.

I really hope we will get a Balrog at one point... Apart from being awesome, I can't imagine it *not* having a lot of useful parts.

I'm really looking forward to a Bag End set as well. In fact, when I first told my wife one of the sets is called "Gandalf Arrives" she was very excited it might include Bag End as well!

These are awesome. For a castle fan and one who likes the Lord of the Rings movie, these will be a good addition to my castle collection. However, did anyone realize how EXPENSIVE these will be?!!? The attack on weathertop will be 40 - 60 dollars! I definitely will not get all of these in a space of one year.

I noticed the other day how expensive the Weathertop set is. Being the only set I actually was going to buy the first time I saw it (as opposed to potentially buying it like with the other sets in the LOTR line so far), I was a bit disappointed.

Tis the price we pay (literally and figuratively in this sentence) for licensed goods from a major franchise.

I'll pay, but what makes it even "worse" is the fact that only 5 months after the LOTR sets hit, an equally expensive wave of Hobbit sets hit as well!

$1000 lego castle year. :roflol: :twitch:

You've got to be kidding me. :twitch: What's Lego trying to do, make people broke? I know very little about the movie Hobbit, so can someone refresh my mind on this? If its similar to LotR movies, I'm going to explode. How am I going to collect all of these?

I guess thats what saving is for.

When we get to Hobbit sets, I would expect a few of the following possibilities:

1. Bag End, Bilbo's humble home.
2. Troll Camp, a major action moment in the preview, the book and an opportunity for a few of the 13 Dwarves.
3. Spider Sting, another major action moment where Bilbo really sticks it to the enemy, and again with the Dwarves.
4. Elven King's Dungeon, who wouldn't like that?
5. Goblin Cave, a chance for a Goblin King, big goblins, more of those Dwarves.
6. Wargs in the forest, fifteen birds up five fir trees?
7. The Carrock, or Beorn's home anyhow, dare I pray for ponies?
8. The Lonely Mountain, here there be dragons and gold.
9. Rivendell, the home of Elrond half-Elven.
10. Lake Town, well what else is there?

So at the very least we should hope for Bilbo, Gandalf & Gollum (again), some Elves of Mirkwood and Rivendell, another Troll or three, Goblins of the worst sort, 13 Dwarves, Elrond and Smaug the Dragon. I would like to see the Eagles, Bard, Beorn, Ravens and Wargs, but we shall see. Perhaps Dain and the folk of the Iron Hills and the Men of Osgiliath and Lake Town?

And remember Tolkien fans, the assortment REVEALED so far only goes through Fellowship of the Ring and the first half of The Two Towers. The Tower of Orthanc, The Gates to Mordor, the Witch King of Angmar, Minas Tirth, Fanghorn and Rohan are all absent so far.

Can anyone tell me what the movie Hobbit is about? Is it a continuation of LotR?

It basically tells the story of how Bilbo went on an adventure with 13 dwarves and Gandalf to retrieve a treasure stolen from the dwarves by the Worm of Greed, Smaug, and how he came across the Ring, his mithril shirt, Sting, etc. and was written long before the LOTR books came into existence. It was one of the first (if not THE first) book written by J.R.R. Tolkien about Middle Earth, and the LOTR books came about because fans wanted 'more about the hobbit'. The movie is just a film adaptation of the book. :)
