I would guess they're saving her for the second wave of LotR sets (Minas Tirith, Ride of the Rohirrim, Death of the Witch-King, or something of that nature) where they can have ACTION-ÉOWYN!

I do hope so! ;-D

I "treated myself" yesterday by picking up a copy of this set. Can't wait to build it!

Also, TBB posted this great video that shows the set being built, along with detailed views of the figs. It's really awesome. Definitely worth a watch.

AK, you're right, that video is fantastic! Great view of the minifigs!

The same guy reviewed all of the other Lord of the Rings sets on his youtube channel too, definitely worth a watch.
Here is a link to them.

Very cool set. Just saw it in person and have to say this thing built up is bigger than I thought it would be. I mostly just build and such for my son now but he sure had a ball playing with it, and I have to admit it had some cool features. Why didn't TLC do these instead of the ninja line or KK when I was young(er).

That's pretty neat. I have thought about time-lapsing some builds but haven't gotten around to a serious attempt to look good. The only one I have done was one for the Midi version of the Millenium Falcon.

Finally finished building my copy of Helm's Deep. Man, what a great set!

One question: has anyone tried putting the sticker for the "horse banner" on a flag other than the one provided? I'm thinking it would look awesome on a black piece of the same type.

I treated myself last week, and I definitely like this set. There are some cool techniques, and Uruk-Hai Army set looks good next to it (although the different sized crenelations look weird.

Just finished this set last night (and also watched the designer film on Lego.com). I've ended up with some mixed feelings though. When completing the gatehouse and the curved walls I couldn't give enough praise to the designers but the tower and the keep are pretty rudimentary in the building techniques to the most part and it left me a little disappointed and unmotivated to finish the set after completing the gatehouse. Anyway the overall set is pretty nice and it's still really impressive as far as sets go but part of mendeels that they took a short cut on the tower and keep to cut costs as you can't see either fully from the set pictures. As far as the exterior of the set and the walls though I still think they did a stellar job and will certainly be buying quite a few uru-Kai attacks :)

I got this set a few days ago.. I'm not a fan of LOTRs but I do like castles. Its a nice build but the grey gets kinda repetitive.. I kept turning the pages and getting excited when it showed a colour that wasn't grey.

I bought this set so that i can make it the keep of the Lion knights from the Kingdoms line. I've already converted the figures to yellow skins.. I'm considering painting the elfs ears yellow so he fits in. I also bought the Gandalf arrives set. Great horses and Gandalf looks better yellow lol. I really like the elfs torso. I think I will make him into the leader of the elves from the CMF range.

I believe that these figs would look also great in yellow skin :D
Haldir as the leader of the CMF elf thats a cool idea, post some images when you are ready with it :D

I was at Toys'R'Us a couple of weeks ago, shopping for my son's b-day, and I noticed Helm's Deep was on the racking for an astonishing $150 U.S. Needless to say (or is it anymore??) I did a double take and nearly flipped the shelf. Are we really okay with a sudden mark-up of nearly 1/3 the price? I find this large of an inflation flat out insulting. I know it's a bit cheaper directly from Lego but still...I can't fathom paying that much in store.

I snagged this at Walmart a month or so back on clearance for $80. It was well worth that price. This is a great set. The construction was fun and used some new techniques. The figures were great. And the finished model looks good. My biggest complaint about the design (aside from the minimal stickers) is the silly bridge piece that connects the wall around the throne room with the rest of the wall.

I'm half tempted to snag another one of these, even at full price...

Dang, you are lucky! Just ordered one off of eBay for $95, from what I heard it'll be well worth it. :D
