Barrel Escape Exclusivity?

Is the Hobbit Barrel Escape set exclusive to a certain store? I've read it has limited availability, but can't seem to run down what that means? Target only? TRU only? If it is such an exclusive set, I don't want to delay and miss it.

I think so, here in Finland we don´t have target nor TRU so I don´t know about those but here it is only sold through Shop@home and in one toy store BR-Toys

I've seen it at both Target and TRU, but can't speak to any other stores. I doubt it's an exclusive to two stores. I'm sure it's more just a case of which retailers ordered it.

I think it is a TRU "exclusive" meaning that you can only buy it from them or directly from Lego. Similar to the Orc Forge, which you could only get from TLG or Target.

I looked again, and since it doesn't seem to be listed any place else, it must be a TRU exclusive. That's funny, as they didn't seem to make much of a big deal about it. I remember hearing a lot about the Target Orc Forge exclusive, but nothing at all about this.

Its a Toys R us exclusive in Australia. So it might be the same for the US

It's also weird that this would be an exclusive since it comes with some of the 13 dwarves that are exclusive only to this set. You'd think that an exclusive set would be like the Orc forge, and be just a bonus, not necessary to own set in order to complete a collection of all the main characters.

Well none of the four Walmarts, I visited today had them in stock. They had the rest. So I assume there must be some kind of limited availability.

In the new Lego catalog Barrel Escape isn't listed, so I also think it's a Lego S@H exclusive, like The Orc Forge. As someone else mentioned before.
I have the set allready, it's a nice set, but the price is way to high, for the contents of this set.

In Canada, the Barrel Escape is exclusive to Toys R Us, but can also be ordered from S@H.

It's a TRU exclusive here in Canada too. I spent days looking for one not at a TRU and came up short. It was ironically the only hobbit set my son wanted and at the store that didn't have it on sale. I will say though it's a great set. The Barrels stay in place and the jail release is cool too.
