I saw people talking about it on a Youtube video. When you see the kind of things parents groups lobby against, it wouldn't surprise me really. Apparently they also convinced Lego to stop putting alternate builds in sets (which is a crying shame), because they complained their kids couldn't build them - as if that was their purpose... I'm not sure how it works though... and maybe it's just a rumour.

I love the new LOTR Sets, especially the ship with the ghosts, and the Black Gate is also very cool!

I am going to need so many of the Council of Elrond set. I bet those new arches will be expensive enough on BL that I might as well get the whole thing multiple times and sell off the figures I don't want.

I will just wait and lugbulk those arches. They are not as interesting to me due to the white color. Now if they were in light bley or tan!

I agree. It would definitely be easier to lugbulk them. Now if they came in light bley or tan, that'd be awesome.

They'll likely show up in future sets, I'd think. Would be weird for such a useful piece to only make such a limited appearance, wouldn't it?

My exact thought. Indeed it would be strange if this was their only appearance.

I'm sure they will and I hope its sooner rather than later but I'm pretty excited about them in white. I wonder why they didn't get used in the Castle sets.

Probably because the new castle sets are all about simple design and they want you to buy the more expensive sets for these exclusive parts. The guys at Lego ain't dumb, you know ;)

The sets don't look as good and detail on the soldiers aren't as nice as the kingdom ones. They should of brought back the goblins and or at least made like forest out post or something to do with woods men. But yeah i agree these will be good army builders and stuff for the horses will be nice. They might of just needed something to fill in for the kingdom ones tell the came up with another Fantasy style of sets.

I think the Black gate would have looked a whole lot better if it had a symmetrical twoer on the other end as well. I don't know how 'realistic' this would be to the films, but judging from this mocpages effort http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php? ... 337873231m it would have been a better representation of the central gate section. And a nicer playset.

I've read suggestions that the ship is to fill a current hole in the current Lego lineup (all themes) for a 'pirate ship' type that parents often look for. I'd guess that most would probably prefer a traditional pirate ship to a creepy looking bat-boat though.

This line doesn't look quite as spectacular as the previous... I'm not too fond of the faction-specific torsos; the blue with crown sigil makes it impossible for me to use them for anything except for a lord or king with the colour blue and a crown as part of his banner... I hope there are some generic armor torsos I haven't seen yet... I wish TLC would depart from the cliché blue and red factions and bring in some colours we haven't had in a while like green (not dark), purple, orange, gold, etc.

Not much in the LOTR area either...

Did I post on this already? I can't remember lol

Have you ever seen a brick seperator in such a small set?

Utterly ridiculous! I mean seriously, if TLG keeps this up people might have to get a bucket to keep their brick separators in!
