Collectible Minifigures series 12 image

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

An image of six of the series 12 figs was included in a catalog in Japan. Note that awesome wizard! The Greek warrior princess (or is that Athena?) and the sword fighter guy are also castle-adjacent.

That wizard's hat...THAT WIZARD'S HAT. It's a clear shout-out to my favorite fictional hat of all time. Given LEGO's partnership with Disney...is this a sneak preview of something unfathomably awesome?

Actually, all six of the minifigs in that shot have something to offer, even the dude with the drill and the...I'm going to guess alien hunter (with the compound bow). I'd keep any one of them if they came in my blind bag.

These look totally epic. I'll spend a lot of money on these, I imagine!

Hey,

The wizard's hat immediately made me think of Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey as well, and I'm sure we'll see several MOCs based on this.

I've seen the fig with the compound bow called dinosaur hunter, but to me she is obviously Katniss Everdeen.

Brown Musketeer hat? Yes, Please. The gamer and the spaceman I can take or leave, but the rest of these look great - even the "Dino Tracker" (as rumor suggests the lady with the bow is called - the syringe, presumably a tranquilizer, supports this).

I wonder if that wizard hat signals an upcoming shift in LEGO wizards generally? I noticed in the recent MMO ads that the Big Bad was wearing a red version (but figured it was a representation of the gnome hat) - frankly, I sort of expected him to be the rumored wizard in this set.

Ha, yes, dinosaur hunter is probably correct, and I can see the Katniss influences. I think my brain went "alien hunter" because the color of the syringe made me think of space goo.

I'm adding these to The List using the following names:

Dinosaur Hunter
Drill Guy
Greek Goddess
Swashbuckler
Video Gamer
Wizard

Anyone got any better ones? Obviously I'll change them to the real names when the official list comes out. It looks like we're getting an October release date!

Great stuff! I'll go for all three of those castle related ones. Love the wizard! We definitely need more variety in wizardom, and his overall look is fantastic. I skipped the Simpsons, and hardly found any of the movie ones I wanted, so I'm fresh for a new go-round with these guys!

More info has been posted on Eurobricks, but I don't remember whether that's considered legit to discuss.

I'll grab a wizard and the goddess - the swashbuckler looks a bit too specific to make a good generic castle character to me but I guess the torso could be useful...

I can see the goddess' hat being used for a Viking, you know, because Vikings had long blown hair.

So, an advertising flyer with a few more figs on it has turned up - no overtly Castle figs among them, but the Prospector looks like he could be modified into a yeoman-farmer type easily enough. Plus he's got a nifty beard. :)

I knew Spooky Girl would end up being a Goth. Love the "dead" teddy bear.

New official picture, too big to post directly!

Lots of good stuff here, with the Hun, Princess, Jester, and Genie all very castle-applicable. The former is going to be the big army builder of the series, I can tell. :) And does anyone else think the genie's tail(?) looks like it might be trans-blue? It might make for some interesting water effects. I also love that the princess comes with a frog. :D

Altogether, I'd say there's only 3-4 figures here I have absolutely no interest in, so I'd count that as a success.

Definitely will try to stock up on Huns! Mix em with the Highlanders and I'll have a lovely barbarian force :)
