These were always two of my favorite set themes but I always was confused whether they were connected or not. It always bothered me that in the Royal Knights Drawbridge it comes with a Dragon Master that is carrying the blue dragon oval shield of the Black Knights and in the Dark Forest Fortress they have 2 Dragon Masters soldiers with the cart, but it has one of the smaller Black Knight shields AND a regular green dragon Dragon Masters oval shield.

Can anyone explain this?

My best guess is that LEGO had a surplus of left over dragon master's shields which they were looking to use. It is one of the various faction mysteries.
