New classic castle set.

Post by dyntar »

Has anyone else seen the re release of a classic castle set. Its being given away when you order from Shop at home on the Lego website. Its looks like the Lion knights siege cart set 6012 but with only one figure.

Can I ask where you found the information? Just curious.

Other than that...that's actually really cool.

It's from the July store calendar, and is definitely a sweet 'free' set, that I'd like to get myself.

That is really cool! Siege Cart / Ballista was my first ever LEGO Castle set back in 1986, and I still have it. Totally want this new version. Preferably many of them.

I've actually been happy with all of these white-box LEGO promos. There was a Pirate one last year that was similar to 6235 Buried Treasure, and another with a spaceman and a droid.

I only wish they were more easily available.

Dude! This is awesome! I recently acquired the Pirate one, and was rather pleased with it. Lego does seem to be stepping up each of these little sets.

I won't be getting it, but i hope it's really popular. I just want to see sets like these return to regular retail. If this was on the shelf as a regular set, i'd be buying 1 or 2 every week.

Really fascinating! I find it interesting that, though the set seems to use new grey and curved brown parts, the crusader torso and shield look pretty much like the original ones from the 80s. Maybe TLC has them in stock?

Highly doubtful. They have been redo-ing classic figures on and off for the last several years. It started with boxed sets of classic figs which were in the "new" colors. They had the same kind of give away for pirates last year and space at one point too.

Funny, we still call them new even though they have been around for a super long time now. Maybe we should call them classic grey and classic dark grey.

Bricklink calls the old colors...

Dark Gray
Light Gray
Brown

...while the new colors are called...

Dark Bluish Gray
Light Bluish Gray
Reddish Brown

I prefer the older colors both on figs and bricks alike. Much better/more natural feel to them.

Does the little array of 8 minifgures on there imply that there will be 8 different sets like this, or am I overly optimistic? :D

That is probably a sample from the included booklet.

I was able to get one from someone in my lug, she isn't into castle and other then the pick a brick wall at our local lego store their wasn't much for me to buy that month to get the freebie. so she gave it to me for free i gave her some pink and purples i had that i would never use. its an awesome little freebie.
Are our builds ever really done?
