Weekly Set Review: Crossbow Cart
Join the weekly Classic Castle set review discussion. Please post your opinions on the set play ability, piece selection, design, etc. Which sets stand up to our catapult of critique and which ones crumble in shame!
This week’s set is 6004 Crossbow Cart.
Crossbow Cart was released in 1997 for the Fright Nights. This crossbow-firing cart is pushed by a siege worker and includes various weapons and shields.

OK, I needed crossbows back then, this one had 3 and for a small cheap set, so I bought 6. Beside the shields are cool and a usefull minifig.
One of the better small sets 9/10.

For $2, this appears to have been a great deal. Terrible set design, but a good minifig and a bunch of equipment.
I would have bought a bunch if I was collecting LEGO while this was available.

Great deal for a cheap set. Many weapons, and a great minifig. Great for army building. 8/10

I like this set. The fig has a great head and torso, and I think the cart is actually kind of neat. One thing that has always bothered me though is having more crossbows or longbows than I have quivers, but I guess it would be too much to ask for a couple extra quivers in sets like these.

Great for parts. The fright knights are known for being the downfall of TLC, but this set is good for minifig/accessories and at a low price...not bad.

Mounting three crossbows on a cart doesn't make a whole lot of sense - I'd prefer a proper bolt-thrower. But ignoring that, you get a decent fig, and lots of weapons and shields, and enough of a cart to build your own ballista on. So I still have to give it decent marks. 7/10.

The car who has the stuff if you want minifigs.
10/10.

You know you're a good person when you see megablocks and have to do things you would rather not.

6004 is one of my favorite Fright Knight sets. It has my favorite FK soldier with a wonderful torso design (see Anthony's sticker variations for Musketeer and Cardinal's Guards variations of this torso http://www.classic-castle.com/howto/art ... orsos.html )
The crossbow cart itself is a well designed small sets with some useful plates, wheels, and of course weapons and shields. All together for that price it was a great bargain.
