Two Great Castle Minifigs in CMF 20

Post by Azaghal »

The Brothers Brick reporting on the New York Toy Fair just revealed not one, but two nice-looking castle representatives in the 16th Collectible Minifigure series:

(There are much better pictures at the link.)

I'm honestly not sure which one I'm more looking forward to - the knight (I'm calling him the Yellow Falcon until further notice) is pretty basically outfitted, but his colors and insignia are quite outside the norm, and very striking. The Viking, on the other hand, looks to me to have a completely new helmet, and a torso that could be re purposed for civilian figs.

Looking over the rest of the series, the Pirate Girl is the only other real standout from a Castle perspective, although there's a few other bits that might prove interesting. For some reason the hair on the rock star screams "Elf" to me.

I do like the knight. The viking looks good but I'm not sure how well it will look with the original vikings (who also have been sitting around with me wondering if I'll actually use them...). I agree, the rock star's hair would work nicely for an elf.

Beyond that, since I do other themes I'm excited by:
The Space Fan
Piñata Boy
The Sea Turtle
The Space Ranger (a horde of those would make a good faction for Space)
Karate Kid

This whole series looks to be one of the ones I've been most excited about in a while--those two figs being, naturally, the main reason why. I hadn't even noticed--though I saw those pics on TBB--till this thread that the knight looks like he might have a newly moulded sword. It looks great.

The knight with the bird on it's shield is great. I'd love an army of those.

That is a great looking knight minifig, and looks like a VERY nice new sword mold.

The Viking guy, eh, he's nice, but I'm not personally excited for that one, but I can see why others are.

Oh that beautiful knight with his magnificent shield. One of the most exciting minifigs I've seen in a long time. Makes me wish that Lego used his colour scheme for a faction in an actual line. Oh well this is still great.

Well, they did make a black and keetorange/flame-yellowish-orange/bright-light-orange knight once before but...

It was only the Dracus buildable figure, the actual minifigs just used yellow.

I guess they 'technically" did. Sadly that year of KK2 didn't have a whole lot to it.

P.S. Nice user name.

Hey all,

According to LEGO.com, this series releases this weekend. I'm not sure if there will be any delays in shipping due to COVID. BTW, this is series 20 - I've corrected the thread title.

Huw at Brickset got a preview and posted some high quality pics. Follow the link for larger pictures, different angles and also to see the other figs.

Saw Series 20 minifigs at Target today! Grabbed two, but did not get the Knight or Viking.

I was surprised to see them and thought I must have misread. Perhaps they got put out by mistake?

Yes, that is a new sword mold.

I would like to get a bunch of the Viking to add to my Viking village, but so far I'm getting more of a Chicken Knight army because I've found 4 of him and only 1 of the Viking.

Amazon.com put the Series 20 figures on sale for $3.44, and Wal-Mart matched the price in stores. I have 2 Wal-Marts in my town, so I went to both to buy some figs. As of today, Wal-Mart still has the $3.44 price for Series 20 figs, so it might be worth your while to check them out.
