How many sets do you own?

Post by lemon_squeezer2 »

This is another question in the line of "How big is you army?" and DM questions "how old are you?" and "do you acually play with your legos?" It is neat to see a sort of cross section of all the castle fans here.

So. How many sets do you own? Being pretty much new to castle I only have six.

Thanks!

Hello!

Since this is a Castle set poll I checked "all of them". Except for very few Kabaya sets that have also been released with different numbers as non-Kabaya sets I own at least one copy of each (known) Castle set. That's about 150 sets (including Ninja). Well, I do not own exactly "all of them", but that's nearer to the truth than "50" :-)

Hmm. All LEGO, over 50. Castle LEGO, not so many. I've actually bought a lot more loose figs and bulk bricks than actual Castle sets. Perhaps ~10, double that if you add in the multiple copies of set 4806 (http://guide.lugnet.com/set/4806) I got on clearance.

I probably have bought about 40-50 different sets, but some sets I have purchased 50+ copies of. So is the poll about how many different sets, or how many sets in general? Because for us older guys who have been collecting for years it makes a difference.

I didnt vote cause I dont collect anywhere near all of them, but ive been buying fairly constantly since 2001 and Im fairly sure I have more than 50. Especially if you consider multiples of sets (I have 4 3739, and 3 10000).

LOTS! But not all. "Yellow Castle" first set I got, missed most of the early 80's stuff, have almost everyhting in the 90's except Kings Castle, and I didn;t buy King Leo's 2nd castle nor the small "Bulls" sets. Multiples of many of the latter/reissued sets :D

Hmmm...a lot. Yeah, a lot. It has to be in the 30-50 range. So that is how I voted, but I am not sure. It's a lot, I know that.

Whoops  sorry about that.

I feel like a newbie. I didn't know there were that many!
Oh well.

How do you edit a poll?

I've never collected the Ninja line since I don't consider it Castle. That being said, I'm only missing 4 sets to complete the entire line. I've never actually counted, but Im probably in the neighborhood of 150 sets or more. I know I have about 2 dozen Skeleton Suprises alone. Do those bag sets count? :D

I've got about 180 sets, of which 30 are castle. I did not include Harry Potter in that 30.

Excellent topic, by the way

In this case I'm also missing only four sets (2889-2892, if anybody has them for sale...). The question remains: Can I say "I own this set" if this set doesn't have any building instructions to prove the ownership but only a box or bag that I never owned while I have all the pieces? Speaking of 0016 and 6002.

Harhar. For the poll I counted only one copy of each different set. The pieces from the sets that I own more than one of are for building. (With the exception "yellow castles". I don't need yellow bricks too much anyway.)
Do those bag sets count? :D
Everything that has a number is a set and counts. But I wouldn't count on the Lugnet database alone. They don't know everything:
