Never really cared for the design of the ram, but I always wanted to get the bonus pack this came with, castle-wise, the relatively cheap fig was a big draw. Never did though...

Parts: 5/10
Playability: 6.5/10
Figs/Accessories: 7/10
Design (then): 4/10
Design (now) 5.5/10

Overall Score: 5.6/10

Another small useless set that we buy for a minifig. Since I didn't buy it back then (or knew of it's existence back then) buying it know from ebay for a ridicouls price seems pointless. Actullay for a small set it got some nice parts that can be used and I always liked those knights. The design even though it's not KKII is pure crap.

Final Score for a small set: 7/10 for the parts.

ahhh...

this is one of those moments when I go against the norm even in the face of obvious reason and in the end get picked apart by the masses... ;-)

Umm.. yea, so I actually kinda liked the set. I know, it's really weak as a battering ram compared to any other faction, but I always pictured it kinda as a mini-version, meant for knocking down fortified inns, or rebel safe-houses, or something like that (kind of like a castle version of catching Billy-the-kid). I can see some forestmen barracaded up at a local pub and shooting arrows at the dark knights as they "ram" down the pub doors with it... no?

Of course, it would take more than one soldier... but then again... for $2.. who could complain? :-)

I think I got this set. I like the guy and the weapons other than that it was mainlu just pieced out and the guy joined the rank and file.

I also actually like this set. Sure the ram is small and needs a few more guys to push it, but some doors (like in set 6062) were small and could be knocked down by this. For a small set, it has some useful pieces and a nice figure. We can't expect all small sets of this size to have tons of details or be larger. So for the sets size, I think it was designed well. It beats another fire or arrow cart any day.

I agree with Ben, and he did a good job saying it so I won't repeat.

I will say, though, that I really like the fig with all the accesories. I also like the wheels, maybe because I only have two of any size right now. ;)

I do agree with Yaron though; paying more than three or four dollors for it now is really rather pittieful.

And again, as Ottoatm, said: "For two dollars, who could complain?"

I have had this set for a while. I liked it back when I got it with the Castle pack, and I like it now. It has always held a nice simplicity, and yet functional purpose that you just don't get with any of the newer Castle sets. Just my penny & penny.

Doesn't do much of anything for me. A fig and some random parts. As a weapon of war, it seems underdeveloped, which is saying a lot considering the simplistic nature of a ram. 3 outta 10.

bruce is evil  he's besieging chickenland! by the way, chickenland isn't full of chicken coops, its full of KFCs!
Great MOC, Bruce! But, Bruce isn't evil. I am, it was my idea to besiege the chicken coops. Just didn't know they were in KFCs instead of the coops. This set would work to besiege a KFC. So I am modifying my previous statement. "Not a great design, might be good for besieging KFCs." But only the ones frequented by rubberchicken knights. :) NOW I have to go attack Chickenland. BTW, how many KFCs do I have to besiege?

Back on topic. I looked at this again and have some more to add. If it were released now, I would buy a bunch. But at the time, it was a pretty mediocre set. So I guess its a rather decent set, all things considered.

Thanks,
Josh

As in, it had a good figure (not multicolored) and a decent price (not sure of this, but that period was better).

Much better than the KK2 "minifig set" of Vladek and that Purple guy. (I'm not going to bother learning their names)

If it was suddenly reproduced and released in some freak accident at TLC, I would buy lots of it, simply because it is a much better minifig set then what we've had in at least 4 years (King Leo wasn't all that bad, just overpriced), probably closer to 5-6 (Ninja stuff was good, IMHO).

Not near the amazingness of the ultimate (IMHO) minifig set, the Black Knight, but pretty demn good by today's low standards.

I don't understand people saying it's a bad design. I think it's not so bad. It looks like a real battering ram. 6062 doesn't look like a real battering ram.

I would have add one more minifig however.

9/10

Yeah the ram isn't the greatest, honestly though you buy a set this size for the figure and the weapons. Three weapons, a shield, wheels, and a minifigure. Plus some decent parts. Definately a nice set in my opinion/ Lego will be returning to this with there new "impulse" sets.
