For tan parts I'd deninatly take Hogwarts. It has lots of tan 1X2X6 bricks and two tall colums. Its great for tan bricks.

Buy the Dragon Fortress, it parts/piece ratio is better even wih the big pre-moulded baseplate. The parts are also better for building castles than Hogwarts. A lot of places are slashing prices on the orient sets and that means even better value for your buck. I'm not sure what the market is like where you buy, but where I am the few retailers still selling Hogwarts have it at full retail. Right now the Dragons Fortress is $79.98 CDN at Wal Mart. Quite a difference from original retail.

Dragon Fortress has quite a bit of tan. Here is a rundown:
3 Tan Arch 1 x 4 x 2
2 Tan Arch 1 x 6 x 2
3 Tan Arch 1 x 8 x 2
26 Tan Brick 1 x 1
6 Tan Brick 1 x 1 x 2 with Shutter Holder
20 Tan Brick 1 x 2
4 Tan Brick 1 x 2 x 2
14 Tan Brick 1 x 2 x 5
10 Tan Brick 1 x 4
10 Tan Brick 1 x 10
1 Tan Brick 2 x 2
11 Tan Brick 2 x 4
6 Tan Slope Brick 75 2 x 1 x 3 Inverted

Hogwart's has a lot of tan parts too. Here is a rundown:

4 Tan Arch 1 x 4
5 Tan Arch 1 x 6
1 Tan Arch 1 x 8 x 2
28 Tan Brick 1 x 1
5 Tan Brick 1 x 1 x 5
7 Tan Brick 1 x 2
16 Tan Brick 1 x 2 x 2
12 Tan Brick 1 x 2 x 5
1 Tan Brick 1 x 4
3 Tan Brick 2 x 2
10 Tan Brick 2 x 2 x 3
4 Tan Brick 2 x 3
1 Tan Brick 2 x 10
2 Tan Support 2 x 2 x 11 Solid Pillar

As you can see a Hogwarts has a slightly better assortment of tan, but the Dragon Fortress has a decent assortment of tan and there are also a few other things it has going for it. The figs, the black heavy castle ninja doors, the black harry potter doors, the two light gray twisted pane windows, the plethora of 33 degree roof slopes, the dragon is pretty nifty too. As a set the Dragon Fortress also looks better. Hogwarts has the Knight, but that knight is just not worth buying the castle.

Just my opinion,

It looks as if you're planning to do what I am (I may be wrong), build a tan castle. Personally, I'm buying in bulk. A LOT more parts for a HUGELY smaller price.

If you can find a Yoda Sculpture on sale, it has tons of tan. Almost as good as buying in bulk depending on the sale. I bought one for $44.00 CDN. Quite a deal.

Ditto. I got Yoda for $40 at the Mall of America and the set is great for tan (mostly bricks) and sand green (mostly plates).

Dragon fortress is a awesome set, but if you're looking for tan, get Yoda!

PS- Dragon Fortress also has great figs, various black doors, roof bricks and the GOLDEN DRAGON!

after looking both sets up on Pereen, I would have to say go with the dragon fortress. As mentioned above it has some tan, but it also has many other usable parts... and good figs.

Get Dragon's fortress. It has a large assortment of bricks, and better minifigs.

I don't know about where you live, but around here, the original Hoggwarts castle is on sale, in some cases as much as 50%.

you know, the more I think about it, the more I think that unless you need the extra parts in the fortress, I would go bricklink. Sure you dont get the figs, doors, and whatever else. But the pricetag is going to be lower, and you will get exactly what you need.
