Your right! I always thought this about the two sets, but I never would have thought to point that out - you did so very well - really captured the feeling of the two castles.

I'd love to get it. But I can't afford to blow 100 bucks on Bricklink right now (+20% since I'd be paying with Canadian dollars).

I'm buying a house, so my LEGO purchases have to be under the 20 dollar mark, and far between even then!

I like this set for the pieces it offers. Not to keen on the design, but everyone has discussed that.

Well, I suppose it's quite good for parts, especially custom, but I wouldn't ruin it by turning it into brick fodder, instead I modified the design, improved it, and it's great! I always improve Lego sets with spare bricks I have.

On the other hand, Nick, you can't -have- any useful spare pricks unless you sacrifice some sets to the Gods of Brick Fodder. Unless you spend ludicrous amounts of money at Bricklink just buying piece by piece.

You could buy dublicate sets, and turn them into fodder, keeping one intact.

Certainly. But the fact still remains, some sets will inevitably become brick fodder.
Whether you have more than one of the set isn't the point.

Certainly looks better than the original set. No big gaping holes or anything stupid like that. Good job

It is a okay set, I guess but why holes in the walls 5/10, on the other hand it has good pieces!

Surprisingly okay set for the Fright Knight theme. The colouration and design are not half bad. The fig count is okay, but I agree with the problem with the lack of enemy figs.

This is one I wish I would have owned. Cool tower/multiple levels, love the arches. It's just about the only cool Fright Knights sets there is (aside from the Witch's Fireplace).

When this came out, I bought 3 of them and made my 'dark/evil/black knight' castle. Expanded it but basically used the concept of the the original castle with central pillared hallway, tall tower in the back etc. I like this castle set, although compared to a 6086, a 6085, or a 6090 it isn't very impressive. Good for parts and has my favorite type of dragon made by Lego.

I'd give this set an 8/10.

This is actually my favourite castle.

This castle began my dark ages. I'll never forget the fact that I was waiting for the "new" castle line and when I got the catalogue, I about died. Horrid!

In retrospect, it isn't too bad. It actually looks a bit like a castle and the parts were great. the inverted roof slopes made their first appearance with these sets, but you could get them with the Fright Knight's wagon.

The parts were terrific, but I wasn't about to buy this set just to get them.
