September Topic: Tear down and rebuild or addition

Uh oh...I'm late...I'm late...for a very important date...posting the September topic.

Your castle is too small for your kingdom!!! Do you:

1) Tear it down and start all over?

or

2) Just add additions

Me? I am tearing down and rebuilding. There is always something new I want to do or add. Some more sweet details. It's all about the new new neeeeeeeew! Yes, I probably should be frugal and just add on but why? There are things I hate in the old castle...like all the cracks that let in all the sand.

I guess it depends what you mean by kingdom.

All the castles I've built lately have been stand-alone MOCs. So those get torn down and rebuilt.

I am working on a large scene, but it does not have a proper-castle planned yet. Only a ribbon wall. I don't plan on rebuilding it, but it will get longer as I build. I have a tower on the wall that I wanted a roof on, but didn't have the pieces to do it. I might add a roof to that tower. Sadly, progress on this MOC is very, very intermittent.

I guess I've never had a long project like that with Legos where I've added on as I go. Once I complete a build I don't really modify anything- hardly even moving a minifigure position.

I'm a tear down kind of guy. I've kept very few MOCs together over the years. Once things are photographed they are soon recycled back into my collection.

Letting this thread fly free.
