A Seaside Fortress and a Booby Trap...

Post by Skudmunky »

Hello everyone. I have 2 new mocs to show all of you. First of all, a seaside fortress, complete with some nice cliffs, a small dock, and a gallows!

Brickshelf Gallery (when public):

And for those of you who want a more detailed explanation, the MOCpages site: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/3916

Second, I made another moc for the How-To Booby Trap contest...
The guy is taking a nice, peacefull walk up a small hill to a nice, comfy looking grassy area up top. Little does he know that some evil fiend as it in for him...

And, just for fun, a LUGNET thread:

Do you like the transparent blue bricks I used for the pond on the booby trap MOC? Is it better to use transparent blue bricks, or solid bricks. I kindah like the transparent ones a little bit better, but they are harder to get...

The seaside fortress is very, very nice! I love the gallows, I have been trying to figure a way to make 'em for some time, and this is perfect! Way to go, man!

Hey, thanks! There will be more pictures of the gallows when the folder is public, including 1 or 2 with the trapdoor open.

Hey everone, Its nice to have some replies already. Just posting to let everone know that the Brickshelf galleries are all public, and that the MOCpages sites have been updated.

Thanks for the feedback!

That booby trap made me laugh, I'm not sure why it made me laugh, but I really do like it. I used those clear bricks for a beach house with a pool I built for my daughter and I am still impressed with the way it looks. It looks even better in a scene like yours. Still chuckling at that poor forestman who should have known better.

After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.

Cool seaside fortress. The target you made is cool. I made one just like it before I even saw this moc of yours. Kinda weird. The support post is pretty neat too
Space rocks.

Hey Scudmonkey,

I just wanted to add my praise. I especially like the landscaping on the booby-trap scene, and the "in construction" photos showing how you did it. Trans blue works great for the water. I just never use it because I don't have much.*

Bruce

*I think I used just about all of my trans 1x1, 1x2, and 1x1 round bricks in basic colors in this rainbow:

Hi Scudmonkey,

I also like your moc's. The gallows look great. The trap door seems to work well. I also like your trap. The green patch in the road is a bit conspicuous and the forestman should have known better  The landscaping is nice, I especially like the trans-blue bricks for water. Construction pictures are always nice.

Hey Bruce, thats a really cool idea, that rainbow. I really like it.

Oh, by the way, it actually is skudmunky instead of Scudmonkey, for some reason I like the 'incorrect' spelling a lot better... It just seems to look cooler to me. All the 'U's and 'K's...

Thanks for all the feedback, and for all the positive remarks!
