A Forest Battle

Post by Tycho McKorley »

My latest MOC began like it ended: spontaneously. I wasn't really planning to create it or destroy it, but it happened nonetheless.

Anyway, this is a little scene I made of a Forestmen raid on an army (yes, I know that the number of men I used wouldn't even qualify as a modern battallion) of Bulls. Why Bulls? Well, I think there's just something way fun about seeing the Bulls die Lego style. Here's the folder:

My two favorite elements in the scene are the "bulb" tree (made out of those nearly worthless Lego fruit trees and some Lego rubber bands) and the ruin with a ballista.

Bulb Tree:

Ruin (note my attempt at a pine tree):

Anyway, I think it turned out rather well, though I would change quite a bit if I had the time or resources. Enjoy!

I really like the guy waving the bulls banner like crazy and the hidden archers. Very nice!

Nice idea with the bulb tree. I've never seen it done like that before.

That looks pretty good, and the battle looks deliciously gory. I have to say that I like the choice of the Bulls as the pigs being led to the slaughter.

Was that a Wolfpack in the foreground of the (I think it was the last) picture?

Not that it matters, just curious.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments! Yes, that is a Wolfpackman in the foreground. I felt like I just didn't have enough Wolfpack to justify them remaining as their own faction, so I mixed them with the Bulls and called it a day.

Poor bulls...
I have around 40 of them and I must say with me they don't die in battles against forestmen!
Thats because I have none... :(

But ehm what do we have against bulls?
I like their siege weapons and most of them had cool weapons + their sets gave me alot of good weapons. And they are the best bad guys I know in lego, Vladek and his shadow knights (who don't even have a shield!) just piss me of...
*And the bulls arrive in kk2*
Cedric the bull: "Hahaha Leo we're here to- wtf?"
*and the bulls see some happy knights bouncing at each other with carts*
Cedric (shocked): "I guess we got the wrong KK''
Bull soldier (frightened): "Lets go back"

Hmm I think that The Black falcons are the best bad guys, the bulls are probably second best in my opinion.

Great Battle atmosphere. It's clear the confusion reigning withing the Bull's ranks... Forestmen do have the higher ground, but if that was not the case, the Bulls, with their superior armors, weapons and cavalry, would problably annihilate the Forestmen.
I love the set you've built, nice job.
