Good question. I guess I didn't put that much thought into it.

Hey Jason,

You might want to include a lathe for making the shafts. Here's a quick mock-up, that could be built on top of a simple work table:

The wheel isn't attached, but I don't build very well in l-draw. If I had my bricks in front of me there's got to be an easy fix for that. You could include unfinished poles (stacks of 1x1 rounds) on one side and finished ones (maybe this piece:

on the other side.

I make no claim to originality. This is probably something that got buried in my subconscious from someone else's MOC. Didn't someone have a lumberyard in the CC contest?

Here's a more complete version of the lathe. Again, the wheel in "lathe2" is just hanging in space. Is there a way to connect it to something that fits in the technic hole? "Lathe3" might work, but without my bricks I don't know whether that will hold together.

Lets just say he's not the poleturner.

And I loved both of them, the spearmaker's house is neat, and the double house is quite original

Maybe he buys his poles from me.

(of course, my houses pale in comparison to yours, Jason  )

Anyway, I absolutely love those! Especially the Boarding house. It's excellently designed. I love the 1x1 round bricks used on the corner beams, and the chimney in the corner. Does that house have an interior(I couldn't find any pictures)? I may have to build anothing Tudor style house soon... :) Amazing work.

Seen from a historical point of view, it is highly questionable if there was such a thing like a Spearmakers Shop in those days. Or that spear shafts were made by a poleturner.

But for a more fantasy based layout I like the idea very much. And the buildings are well done indeed 8)

By the somewhat later middle ages, maybe.

About the stone base - You're allowed to have an opinion. As for seeing some without stone bases, I've built a few. Had you seen these ones?

OK - NOW THATS THE STUFF- oh yeah. Just looks a little more realistic to me. Great work as always!
