roof.......roof roof

Post by timber_wolf899 »

who let the dogs out?
er anyway...

what do you guys think of using green roof plates? i'm thinking about making a necromancer's castle in black with grey accents <like 6085> but using yellow for the gate and some accents, with a green sloped roof. kinda like the red roof sections in 6086.
do you all think that'd work?

I think green can work, when used properly.

If its surrounded by vegetaion and trees, it might look out of place. But if it was around rocks and dirt, it might look fine.

Also, its a good idea of using yellow with green. Together, they'll help make neither look out of place.

Nice colors, I agree, yellow and green somehow can match up well with one another, although when I think Necromancer.. I think Black,Green and Purple oddly enough. I'm sure yellow will look great too though.

For sure! Post pics when you do.

Good advice.

Or, if surrounded by sand-coloured trees and such (I've got Poshwa's recent post in my head...), I don't think that green would look out of place at all. It would probably look great.

Green could mean lots of different things - the use of foliage for thatch, painted green for camoflage or decoration, or oxidized copper sheets (Jojo has a good use of that here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=267663 ). I'd say go for it. Especially if you have a town or other collection of buildings, it's good to vary the roof styles and colors a bit.

Hmmm...I like green roofs. In fact, I've been planning to build one, once I got enough green slopes. But green and yellow? Just the thought of that turns me off, unless you want a gypsy house. :?

In stead of green and yellow, I would rather choose green and brown for a old looking roof. With only here and there a yellow or black slope.

For a roof covered with oxidized copper sheets, use only green.

It depends on the effect you want, of course.

PLease, show it when finished.. :)

I think too, as Bricksidge said, that every color can work together when use properly. I think your idea is good. I like both color a lot.

Anyway, we will see when you make your MOC public.
