I'm I getting better?

Post by josdu »

So... I just thought I'd show you guys how you've help me build better MOCs. Here is a comparison photo of my first MOC for LCC (6 or 7 months ago) and my latest (but similar) MOC:

Wow, Josiah, you definitely have improved. It's fun to watch people get better and better over the time since they joined the community. Keep up the good work :) !

I think if you stay around in the LEGO community long enough, you will continue to gradually improve (in at least some way. Granted, I am sure there are exceptions to this. However I have found that most sub-par builders (like me) cannot possibly get worse. Being the case, it's easy to improve as we learn all kinds of new techniques and tricks with LEGO.

You've really improved Josdu, keep pushing your mind and skills to the limits, and you'll get even better :)

Yea and thanks! But another thing is since I joined I haven't been able to purchase much until these last two months (I spent almost 100 $ :twitch: ) so that really helped! And I'm doing great considering that half my LEGO bricks are in Chile :woo: (I'm in the US 8) :D ) .

Hey Josdu,

Really dramatic improvement between these. This is most noticeable in the shape of the main ship and also the rocky part in the back. My one critique to improve this would be that it's a little crowded and busy, which obscures the action. For instance, I really couldn't tell what's going on with the smaller boat from the main picture. I think this would be significantly improved if the 'sea' part were just bigger, which would allow for a little bit more blue around the boats and the rocks, which would act as a frame and make it easier to see the details.

A great improvment indeed! :D
I'd agree with Bruce N H when he says the building is a bit crowded, but, apart of this, the ship quality and the rockwork are very well executed!
And I bet you will get even better! :D
