Post by Sir Erathor »

This is a freebuild for July, for Loreos, in the Lands of Roawia roleplaying game. Enjoy!

Story:
Three weeks had passed since Dalmunatha had been liberated. In that time lords and their armies had come and gone, funerals had been attended and celebrations held. Erathor was now leading his men on their long march northwards, with plans to stop off at Sarenhold for a couple of days before continuing onwards to Garheim.
This war was taking a toll on him. Having seen little of Eleanor in the last few months, Erathor was desperate to enter his city and not leave it. He wanted time to let things settle down, to go back to normality, but that was impossible. His lordly title forced him to do his country’s duty, whether that be in the capital or up in the cold north. It was honourable and right, and that was enough for him, but doubts and selfish feelings clawed at his mind. He had to push them all aside.

Time went on, and the Loreesi moved from the desert into a lush, green land of fields and farms, dotted with the odd fortress amongst the villages. There was only one reason for Erathor to lead his men this way: he had to speak with Allaeus’ father. This was something he’d been dreading ever since the death of his friend. There was something so awful about personally informing the parent of a deceased man that they no longer had a son, made worse by the fact that Erathor himself was still in mourning. He was finding it hard to keep his mind off the events in Dalmunatha – the same could be said for many of his men. With hundreds dead or wounded, every man in his army was bound to be affected in some way. At least that explained the silence in the ranks.

Cheers met the Loreesi as they passed through the gates. People left their work to wave them on. Erathor sighed. If only they knew that this was only half a victory. They would soon find out the full cost of war.
For the Glory of Loreos!

Nice work! The end result looks really good, I see you implemented to pasture effect I suggested. Why is going to Garheim? Obviously to meet my fabulous character.
