Stoutshield Keep

Post by SSchmidt »

A small castle built for the Lands of Roawia role-playing game on http://www.merlins-beard.com

This small castle is nestled in the badlands of Roawia, making it an Outlaw fortress. Due to it's small, thick structure, its garrison began to call it "stout."
Being southwest of the Shade, near the western coast of the Badlands, this castle served as a natural boundary or "shield" to anyone seeking to assail the badlands from the coast.

Naturally, the stone keep became "Stoutshield Keep."

The castle opens up completely and has a full interior.

C&C are both certainly welcome. I am somewhat disappointed with how this build turned out, but I am happy it is completed. I am quite fond of offset windows in castle techniques. If anything I could change, I would alter the walls and have some arches a on the outside stud of the castle to give it some depth.

I think this is a very good keep, it looks quite solid and realistic yet still has plenty of detail and avoids being boring.
The way it hinges open is really neat and I like the interior furnishings :)

This is one of the best hinged interiors I've ever seen. Also where is the halberd from that the guard with the shield is holding?

@Justin M - Thanks man, I had fun putting it together.

@Mpoh98 - Thanks buddy. The interior was a challenge in some spots but overall, I enjoyed doing it.

@soocerkid6 - Thanks man, I absolutely love your finished interiors, so you were definitely an inspiration on me finishing this.

@Aardwolf - Thanks a bunch, I had fun with the interior. The halberd is a Brickarms halberd, but unfortunately, the last time I talked to Will he indicated these were pretty much out of production for good. I think they are focusing on a more modern accessory line now.

@Brickninja - Thanks, I love onset windows. I feel they add a little sense of depth to the overall MOC. :)
