A castle for Gilbert the Bad (from the KK1 era). Includes a portcullis driven by gears, for fast operation.

Compact and complete. Good! Does it build over only one baseplate of 32x32?

Awesome work. Very clean and impenetrable looking.

Very aesthetically pleasing but personally my favorite part is your flawless portcullis mechanism. You seem to have a great talent for hidden moving parts. Is it a secret or may I ask for a picture or description of your methods?

It's actually a single 48x48, but even then it felt like it was JUST big enough.

It's made using some old gears, etc. from one of my technic sets, and was pretty hard to get right. I probably won't be tearing it down for a while but I'll try to put a picture up when I do. Unfortunately I think I would have a lot of trouble explaining in words.

Very cool castle, I like the rather square layout and the wooden section is well integrated.
Sweet landscape as well, the stepping of the reddish brown underneath the green gives a very cool effect :)

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to do that :)

Hmm, I thought I've already commented here, but I guess not. This is wonderful! It really has a nice vibe to it. :)

I took a (rather unglamorous) shot of the insides here. The gate has two 1x1 clip tiles attached to slide consistently between the bricks.

Awesome, thanks again for doing that! That's a very clever mechanism. I like it! :)

A very nice MOC! I enjoyed the wall texture and detail. The modified brick facet 2x2 that you used in the corners really gave it a nice effect. As mentioned by others the grass and dirt touch also made it more interesting to look at. Keep up the good work.
