Sea Hawk by Philip Boyes

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

Philip Boyes recently completed this absolutely gorgeous ship (I believe it is a carrack, but I'm open to correction), the Sea Hawk:

BTW, this is the first time I've featured a MOC that I first saw on Twitter. If you follow @Classic_Castle , I tweet out any CC content, but also retweet any interesting LEGO castle stuff I find.

Definitely has the distinctive features of a carrack: three masts with bowsprit, square and lateen rigged, high fore and aftcastles, wide rounded sides indicating a deeper draft and rounded bottom hull. This is a perfect replica and the realism is spectacular. Looks very smooth and the sails are wonderful. Amazing job!

That really is gorgeous! I love the sleek shape and the rigging but those cheese slope adornments are really nice as well.

The MOC and the reason to build it is really special. Awesome creation I loved the slopes effect!

This is just jaw dropping amazing, the curvature is probably my favorite part, fantastic!
