My entry for the ''out with the new '' category. I wanted to recreate a civilian set. The mill village raid seemed perfect. I looked at some old official lego idea book from the 80's and at set like the 6067 Guarded Inn and the 6040 Blacksmith shop for inspiration. I also added a third faction. It gives child more play value. Instead of having only good guys ( peasant ) vs bad guys ( soldiers ), you have 2 peasants, 2 crusaders and a black falcon knight. It is much more interesting from a storytelling point of view and if you want, everybody can be friend

I am glad to enter CCC XII. I had to forfeit last year but I really wanted to build something this year. Too bad I haven't had the time to finish my siege entry CCC really helped me building better MOCS and I want to thank the admins for putting it together.
Good luck everybody.

Great rebuild! I really like the use of 2x4 bricks for hay and the black/white colorscheme

Oh man... this is a dream come true, seeing a creation like this!
I like the simplistic base-plates which are flat-green, and not raised, or lumpy, which you see in some of the more massive projects.
Very traditional feel with the falcon knight who looks like he came from Knight's Castle, the horse-cart driver who looks like he's from Supply Wagon, and the maiden's hats you saw in the early castle systems(Although I guess up until the Knight's Kingdom 1, where the queen uses a pointy black hat, they were still in use!).
This is a small, but exciting set, and something I would have totally bought as a kid.
I'm also a sucker for those clip-on falcon flags that were exceptionally hard to find.

Nicely done, your collection of older Castle pieces is awesome. I really like the brick-built animals!

Such a beautiful recreation of a wonderful set. The opening barn, black/white color scheme, and brick built animals are all superb

That's very cool! It definitely captures the look and feel of 80's castle.
