When Constantinople fell in 1453, Byzantine scholars who had preserved and studied the ancient Greek and Roman classics for years were forced to flee to other parts of Europe, such as Italy and France. This reintroduction of the ancient works is what rekindled European appreciation for classical thought and art and started the Renaissance.

My entry - "Arab Assault" (yay got it done in time...!)

The Arab–Byzantine wars were a series of wars between the mostly Arab Muslims and the East Roman or Byzantine Empire between the 7th and 11th centuries AD. (Wikipedia).

Here, the guards of a Byzantine outpost unfortunately get distracted by an arriving rug dealer at the worst possible time...
