Hello,
this is my entry based on the set 6059.

Full story from my blog:
http://bricks.kalais.net/post12 wrote: Lego set 6059 Knight's Stronghold was released in 1990. As a child I was dreaming about it. It was a bit more realistic dream because it was much cheaper then big castles. I always knew parents won't buy me big castle. It was outrageous expansive in post-communist Poland with crazy exchange rates usd/zloty. But there was small hope for smaller and cheaper 6059... Well, in the end, I never get big castle nor 6059. I was so crazy to get those big doors, black castle panels and of course those awesome knights.

When I saw on classic-castle.com forum new contest (build castle set in space or vice-versa) I knew what set I will build. I had sentiment to 6059 but also I wanted build some M:Tron outpost. Have you ever noticed that official M:Trons sets have only vehicles and ships? No base? The time has come to change it :)

The conversion starts. Three Black Knights become three M:Trons. Two Black Falcons becomes two Blacktrons. The horse has transformed into vehicle. Catapult become giant laser cannon. Alright, no need to write all that. You can just check it out on the pictures below. One more thing worth to mention is that I replaced 6059 prison with containers for trans-neon green samples because M:Tron weren't warriors. They were more like explorers. Enjoy!

Hi everyone!
I actually just joined yesterday so that I can contribute to this awesome topic ;-)
After coming out of my dark ages I really wanted to build some MOCs, but due to time issues (you all might know these...) I just recently started to build MOCs. Thanks to this thread here I found the motivation to build my second and third MOC so I wanted to share them with you! :-)

As kid I always loved knights! Of course I also loved Space! So this topic is great for me. I always wanted to have Star Wars LEGO when I was a kid, but there was none. Only later the first SW sets came out and now they have plenty of them and they are all great! (These actually brought me out of my dark ages!).
On the other hand I feel that the theme castle is being neglected but for the recently retired Lord of the Ring theme.
(NEXO Knights might join castle and space... but I'm not really looking forward to what I have seen so far of it... but how fitting to find a castle goes to space thread here ).

So what did I build?
Here is my first contribution to this topic: "The rebel outpost"

It is based on one set I actually still own that goes by the name Royal Drawbridge. (LINK: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/6078_Royal_Drawbridge)
After seeing Leopolds very impressive space version of Drawbridge Defense I didn't want to build anything too similar so I decided on another take (even though that might take out some of the "space").
In Star Wars the Rebels rely on camouflage and hit and run missions. A little bit like the protagonists in The Hobbit (you'll probably get the hint). So I built them an outpost on some forrest planet.

The big green "walls" on the top are radar devices that can also be used as radar jammers in the closer area to keep the imperials in the dark. They represent the walls of the Royal Drawbridge. In a set like this I couln't find a satisfying solution to building the upper part of the royal drawbridge alternate version so I decided for a high reaching radar instead that is well fitted for space communication. (And also allows us to see that this is more than just a pile of dirt or a fallen tree there in the woods... even though it is well enough disguised so the imperials won't notice).
The drawbridge itself is now a secret entrance that serves as entrance/exit for a speeder bike. With two more entrances at the sides that cover the openings where there are iron bars in the drawbridge set.
The "falling" play feature of the bridge is translated into a hidden hatch (hope that's the correct word in english) with a ladder on it so the rebels can enter and exit their hidden outpost from above.
Feel free to discover what became of the DRAGON knight and the royal knights :-)
(A skeleton or something similiar didn't fit into my vision of this MOC sorry... )

And as you can see on the second picture (and if you are interested some other pictures on flickr) you can take it all rather easily apart and inside is an actual base hidden. This was important to me, since it should be a great set on it's own with nice play features :-)

Sorry I don't know how to upload or links pictures here... I tried a lot and only got errors so maybe a MOD could be so kind as to put the pictures into the post? *g*

And here is my second contribution to this thread!

"The forgotten bunker"

I owned this one as well and it is probably one of the smallest castle sets ever created: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/6034_Black_Monarch's_Ghost
The speeder bike obviously is the alternative version of the horse. As for the raven/bird I put a droid head on the floor ;-)
The gates of the bunker are actually functional as well, so you can open and close them just like in the original black monarch's ghost set (even though it's a bit more tricky here haha).

Managed to do a small entry as well, based on set 1877 Crusader's Cart.

Here is my entry, a castlefied version of the 2004 snow speeder set.

I changed the laser cannons to crossbows, added wheels, and made it look like it had been built out of stone and wood.
The original set also came with a small satellite dish thing, which I replaced with a small tree.

Here is another entry, this one is a M:Tron version of the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug set "Mirkwood Elf Army" (79012).

I replaced the tree-cataput function in the set with a rotating turret. The set also included a Warg for the orcs to ride, so instead I included a small space buggy with a Blacktron scout (yes, this is technically an anachronism, but I don't really like the look of Blacktron future generation)

Hey guys - brand new member of the site here - I started working on this contest as soon as it got announced, with several entries in mind. Unfortunately the school year started and I never got past my first model.
I redesigned set 493 (http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/lego/im ... 1010082420) in the style of the famous yellow castle - hence my model is yellow and fairly plain by design.

It was fun trying to make a grass mound version of the classic space crate baseplate. I look forward to participating on this site more in the future.

Solar Village Raid Mini Sized.
Mill Village Raid (7189) goes to space and then gets shrunk.
Sorry, I couldn't resist. I am going through a micro/mini model phase.

As usual down to the wire, I've developed an Orkish version of my favorite Blacktron II vehicle, the 6851 Tri-Wheeled Tyrax:

And that's that!* A huge thanks to all who entered. This was a lot of fun. Judging will start very soon.

*One more entry may be forthcoming. Someone signed up for the forum late last night and I didn't activate their account until this morning, so I sent them an e-mail asking if they were trying to enter.
