32 - Sure. I think we've allowed non-LEGO cloth for dragon wings in the past.

33 - Sorry, between giving and grading final exams, a family trip, and now holiday busy times I've hardly touched my computer in two weeks. I assume the other admins have similar schedules. I'm back now and tonight will take a crack at the 50+ entries that are pending.
josdu wrote:Btw, if someone places first in two or more what happens? I know that they only get one prize but do they get to choose, or do the judges pick the best one for them? Also are they informed? Just wondering, I guess it doesn't matter cause I doubt it happens to me :P  .
34 - Yes, they are given the option which category they want to win. This has happened in the past, particularly with our past master builders, who obviously score very well in multiple categories.

I have a question about the Size of the pictures.

I share my photos on Flickr. It's got a system of it's own wehere you can share a picture choosing the size that fits you better.

The original size of my photo is much bigger than what CCC regards as ideal. Should I resize my original picture or it doesn't matters once it's uploaded on Flickr?

Also, all entries should be added using the "Submit an Entry" page? And it olnly adresses a single picture, is that right or am I doing it wrong?

I'm brand new on the Forum (just registered) though a Classic Castle lover for a long time. First time on CCC - Pardon me if I may sound dumb.

As stated in the contest rules: "Each photograph should be no larger than 1600 x 1280 pixels in a portrait or landscape orientation (note, this is the original picture posted to an image-hosting site such as Flickr, Brickshelf, or MOCpages, even in those cases where the image-hosting site automatically resizes images)."
So, yes, resize your pictures.

35 You include a url for a single picture that will be the thumbnail for your entry (see, for instance, here), but then the link can be to a folder with up to five pictures.

No problem. Always best to ask.

As I posted on the Naughty list thread, we've been focused on approving and moderating entries. We will get the naughty list updated.

But there are a huge number of entries that are containing images that are way too big. Please check your images if you are not seeing your entry. If your images are okay, then the odds are that we have not gotten to your entry.

Thanks for all the answers guys! Can I have a composite image with two functions? e.g. a four in one picture showing a trapdoor opening and shutting below and a drawbridge on up and down on top?

36 That would be an appropriate use of composite images.

I know the rules limit it to a white background only, but if a model is made of largely white bricks could I use a black one?
For example this model would be really hard to photography on a white background.

The rule is you need to have ONE white background picture, the others can be of your choice.

I don't want to be a pain or anything, but since this is my first year participating in the CCC, can anyone tell me an average amount of time it takes for the winners to be posted? Again, the judges can take their time, I just wasn't sure if there is an estimated time.

Thanks, guys!

Trying to answer this in the nicest way possible but with 100% honesty:

Judging takes as long as it takes. We strive to get it done in a timely manner, but with over 200 some entries with 3 to 5 images to look at...it just takes time. And as much as others hate when we say this, your admins all have full time jobs, families, and other commitments. We ask for patience and understanding as we work hard to complete it.

So I am sorry we can not give you an estimate. But we are trying to get it done as soon as virtually possible.

I don't know whether it is an error or a place holder but under events- CCC XII on the main page the word winners is there but no link. Is this just a place holder? I am just trying to make sure I didn't miss anything (winners announcement for example) as I didn't have time to visit CC over the last few months.

I apologise in advance if the answer is the same as the quoted one above.

Once the winners are announced it will be on the front page. Please continue to be patient and understanding with us as we finish the process.
