Hey all,
950 years ago this October, William the Conqueror defeated Harold Godwinson at the Battle of Hastings, reshaping English history for centuries to come. James Pegrum (aka Peggyjdb) and Jimmy Clinch (aka Thomas Arrowford), both part of Bricks to the Past have made a massive rendition of the battleground, as well as a number of smaller scenes of surrounding events based on the Bayeaux Tapestry. You can see them all on their site or, if you are anywhere near northwest England you should go see them in person along with other great builds at the Bricks in Time display.

I love the scale of this! The final scene as the battle commences has all the foreboding it deserves: here, the English, after finally -finally- shaking off the Viking menage that had plagued them for 300 years are about to be subjected to Francophone conquerers who, ironically, are the descendants of Vikings.
Great MOC.
Great MOC.

Staggeringly impressive display, as I've come to expect from the BTTP group.
That landscape is so well done!

How many bricks went into the land scape alone. I'm wondering if I'd have the number of bricks to even attempt something like this.
