My first entry to the 15th annual Colossal Castle Contest, for the large miscellaneous category. We recently got a large supply of dark red and dark orange leaves from LUGbulk that I wanted to put to good use, so I built a forest. I’m quite pleased with how it turned out, and I got to try LL’s water technique, which has been on my list of to do’s for a while now.
Allanar Forest is home to a peculiar race of people who are generally known as ‘Dwelfs’. They love nature, and spend much of their time caring for animals, or training them; even such creatures as dragons are welcomed in their community. They live in unpretentious cottages, but don’t be mistaken – they are excellent craftsmen, and they’re homes are held in high regard by even the most skilled architects.

You certainly put those leaves to good use! The curving river is lovely, and I particularly like the small cottage on the left - great use of cheese

John,
Those trees are gorgeous, both buildings are awesome (love the yellow throwback roof!), and the short elves are fun. I'm a bit thrown by the bright lime green in an otherwise fall color scheme though.

Looks great John! Really like the colors in this, and the lime and olive work together surprisingly well! Good luck!

Thanks Isaac, the river was both fun and frustrating to build. Glad you like how it turned out.soccerkid6 wrote:You certainly put those leaves to good use! The curving river is lovely, and I particularly like the small cottage on the left - great use of cheese
Thanks mrcp6d, glad you like it! And yea, I can definitely understand not liking the lime green - I'm actually a bit surprised more people haven't commented on itmrcp6d wrote:John,

Thanks Roanoke! It was fun incorporating some colors I don't usually use.TheLordOfBricks wrote:Looks great John! Really like the colors in this, and the lime and olive work together surprisingly well! Good luck!
