Happy Chinese New Year - post MOCs here

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

Happy Chinese New Year! 2020 is the year of the rat. Use this thread to post a Chinese-themed castle MOC (either one you built or a great one you found online), or else a castle MOC featuring rats.

I'll start the ball rolling. Last year SpaceBrick celebrated Chinese New Year by posting the Shrine of the Golden Dragon.

Let's add a couple of others. Check out another Chinese dragon by Ming Jin. This MOC is 1.55 meters long!

There are lots of great Great Wall MOCs, including some by CCC members, and of course an official set. A few years back Simon Liu built this one.
.

On rats, of course the rat element has been around for a long time and shows up in lots of castle MOCs. A somewhat common rat-centric motif is the Pied Piper of Hamlin, who has made it into a couple of past CCC entries. I'll pick one that I don't think was ever posted in this forum, Ciamosław Ciamek's Wrong Flute! made me laugh.

Anyway, as I said, please share other Chinese or rat-themed castle MOCs.

Some great builds here, thanks for posting Bruce! I had almost forgotten about that Great Wall build by Simon.

Here are a couple more Chinese builds:

Thanks for adding these, LJ; those are all really cool and I hadn't seen the first two before. I especially love the curving walkway, the color variation, and the SNOT on the back-right building in the first one. That second one is just straight-up gorgeous. Funny entry from an old CCC I think on the third - I love the details like the printing press, the portrait, and the crucifix.
