Canton Du Valais

Post by friskywhiskers »

Hello all :) . I've come out of my dark age and I'm happy to present my first MOC in over 4 years. It's based off of the many traditional chalets I've seen hiking in the Swiss Canton of Valais the past two summers. Enjoy!

That's a very nice build all around. How did you get the minifig legs under the windows to stay in place?

Thanks :) . The stack of brown 1x1 round plate, brown minifgure head, and brown 1x1 round brick on the corners of the balconies happen to exactly follow the contour of the inverted mini figure legs, allowing them to stay in place by friction with reasonable stability (e.g. will stay in place when carrying the MOC around but might get knocked out of place with a good jostle).

Beautiful woodwork! Really nice idea with the bare branches in the trees too.

This is really beautiful. I love the texture you got in the walls and the roof, the whips as detail pieces, and the way this sits at an odd angle to the base.
