It was my second entry for the CCC XVII, in the Harvest Building category.
Primarily inspired by this 3d model:

The mill has a full interior. I haven’t done a cheese roof like this before, and it’s a technique I’ll likely use a bit more in the future. Besides that I’m especially pleased with the staircase design inside. Credit for the bag design in the rowboat goes to Marcel.

The watermill in Holt is always a busy place, but especially so during harvest season.

Re: Holt Watermill
Hey Isaac,
This was a really great entry. So many nice details. I love the use of those macaroni tiles, particularly in the daub-and-wattle part, the shaping of the dirt and grass around the exterior, that window on the upper floor where you put two arched frames under an arch, and all the interior details. My favorite, though, is that staircase. Do you have any good pics that show how you constructed that?

There a few breakdown shots of the staircase in this build log post:

And I plan to make a proper tutorial on the design at some point.

Great job on the MOC - it is both beautiful to look at inside and out and is playable. I enjoyed looking through your progress pictures on your blog, thank you for sharing those.

I love this MOC. The dark grey stone really works nicely with the color scheme of the wood and tan walls. The use of chair for the waterwheels paddles also is very innovative.

Re: Holt Watermill
Wow, this is awesome. I like how it can split open to see the interior. And I just love the style of wood and stone for the bottom layers, then wattle-and-daub and wood for the top stories. Everything just mixes so good together making an awesome MOC . Good job!!!
Bishons,
