New Adventures in Lego Castle...

Post by Toradoch »

Hello!

I've been around in the Lego community for a long time, but have only recently started building more Castle, mostly for the purposes of photography. I find it's one of the best and most photo-friendly themes to photograph. Since there is not a photo-specific forum I could find on the site (outside of the tips & tricks one) and MOCs are involved in creating the settings for photos, I figured this section was my best first bet. If Admins need to move to a better place, no worries at all.

Most of my photos so far are based on 3 adventures, but now it's expanding to knights and villians. Below is what I've done so far. As I progress, the MOC aspect will grow larger and more complex (I hope).

Thanks for the admission and apologies for any stumbling around I may do.

Wow, that is cool!!! I especially love the snow scene though. The men trudging through the snow is just so realistic :woo: . I also like how the lamps are lit up in the second one. What program did you use to get that effect?
Bishons,

The key to good MOC building is a large brain and a kinda big wallet

Thanks! They are just the regular flame Lego element lit up with a red laser pointer. :)

That in camera technique looks great! I've also noticed that a handful of Lego's transparent blocks will glow under a blacklight to create a similar effect.

My favorite shot is definitely the snowy one with all the soldiers. Like Rick-Ricks said, that camera looks great. What type is it? Mine is a Cannon EOS 550d.

Thanks so much! My camera is actually an older one I picked up used. It's a quasi-SLR Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 - basically the hardware of an SLR with software that helps with the processing a bit. I chose it because Lumix uses really good German lenses, and the processing helps lessen the learning curve for such specific photography.
