Dragonsbane Hunt

Post by JoshWedin »

Hey All,

Here is a something I MOCed up this weekend. Gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=100928 The knight is my sigfig, Bruce Dragonsbane. He and his men are Dragonslayers (sorry DragonMaster). You might recognize the beast from one of my entries in the CCContest. His name is BUB (Big Ugly Beast). He is kind of stupid but I have gotten attached to him, so I've kept him around. Oh, these guys are my favorite faction as well. Any comments or questions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh

PS. I haven't had time to build lately, so this felt good!

Very nice diorama, Josh. The landscaping is very good.

But methinks that Bruce has committed himself too early into the forefront before all his comrades are properly placed to back him up.

Hehe..my thoughts exactly! CHOW TIME!

The landscaping absolutly rocks, thought the use of so many BURPs is distracting, and I am not sure if I like the light gray patches mixed among the dark gray. Still, a great MOC!

Looks like the dragon has wisely placed himself in a position that protects his flanks and rear and merely needs to boil the pot in front of him, which is a shame since I heartily approve of Bruce Dragonsbane's name. Hope he lives up to his name and doesn't end up as picked bones like those other would-be dragon-slayers. :D

Hey guys,

Thanks for the comments. Well...Bruce will survive. Hopefully he will learn from his mistakes and position himself better next time. Fortunately for Sir Bruce, BUB is an old beast without much fire or fang left in him. Also, since BUB is offended by the new dark bley color, he will eat Bruce's dog first. Then the dragonslayers will kill him while he is distracted. Kill BUB I mean not Bruce. :) Did you see the dog? By the skeleton on the right. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/royds ... t/bub5.jpg Anyway, that is my way of keeping Bruce alive! :)

Great diorama. It would be nice to see some of Sir Bruce's comrades bite the dust before the BUB went down. I always like it when the bad guy takes some guys down with him. :D

You know, it just dawned on me that the weekly review set is the Dragon Wagon...cosmic balance or what? 8)

Well, maybe I will redo this and show the outcome. You must be a prophet.

Just cosmic balance, I am sure. Or maybe this is the beginning of the rise of the beasts?

Hey Yaron!

Glad to be back building. I have been lurking but have had no time to post or build. Sure feels good to have my hands on Legos again. And no you didn't miss a 677 sale on ebay. The first set of these that I got was in 1980. I got a couple of guys out of various large ebay lots I have been dealing in. My son bought me one near mint set off of Ebay, but the rest were torsos on Bricklink. I found a great deal, some guy had 12 of these torsos for sale at 75 cents apiece. I jumped on that! So, I have been working on making them complete men again since then.

Thanks for the welcome back!
Josh
