Hi all,

Aaron Knox (aka Normificus) used skateboard ramps in a novel way in the construction of this watchtower

Ya know what.. I really dig that first one. If it was a bit higher off the ground would look really good.

Whoa...Norm...now that's someone I haven't heard of in a long time! I never talked to him ever since FBTB closed it's chat ages ago. Wow.

Both those models are pretty cool - especially the first one. Good ideas, though I would have used them differently.

It's always interesting to see pieces used for a purpose different than what they were designed for. The versatility of the system and the model's builder are best shown through unexpected uses of elements. A distinctive watchtower is a good watchtower!

Wow. I really like it. Again the beauty of lego astounds me! Who would think that skating ramps could be used for castle? This is just spectacualr!

I must say I'm really excited about this.. I amy have to buy a few of these skating sets just to try them out!

hmm... skateboarding knights? da vinci category of the contest? EUREKA :D
i must get askateboard set!
that sure is a creative idea to use skate ramps! Nice job

Hey,

I've also seen skateboard ramps used for roofs. E.g. here is an example by Marc Nelson that he noted in the Lugnet thread on this tower:
