now i've seen a few recolorings of the yellow castle, but heres a reinterpretation. The premise is that the yellow castle has been besieged, captured, recaputured, destroyed, rebuilt, decayed, and restored over the generations... unfortunately currently being occupied by a low ranking black knight.

Since im seeking to depict a derilect castle thats been reused multiple times, I applied artistic licence(and improvised) on the following.

-The castle opens up into two sections instead of five

-Instead of doing a brick-by-brick conversion, i sought to just maintain the original shape, and letting color demands dictate brick usage

-the "keep" is more defendable and has a ladder to the roof

-stairs

-The back doorway has been filled over with tan and brown bricks, to suggest a recent patch job with stones from a different quarry

-Vines on the walls

-When a desired element in a color was unavailable, i improvised, for example, using slopes instead of arches.

As you can see, i havent done the side towers yet, due to an suprise shortage. I will also fill in the inside of the castle, perhaps putting a hut and stables inside the yard.

That is a pretty creative MOC. I like the story behind it, it makes it a lot more interesting.

The color scheme you've used really makes it look like it is very old and has been destroyed a lot, etc.

Does it still open? If it does, you should post pictures of it opened.

I love this moc! thats very creative. The story goes fantastic with it, and while there are a few things I'd change, overall I'd say the playability is awesome, and like I said, so is the story - boo yah!

I agree, this is a really cool MOC - and what makes it even better is the story - a lot of times the story makes the MOC. Even better is the fact that the owner is a low ranking knight.. nice touch.
Knight Templar
