Nice trees, I agree that the apple one is the coolest. It must be hard to eat an apple the size of your head .
Good job.
Good job.

That's nice, but I as far as I know walnuts are grown on a bush, not a tree... I think...

Great Idea - I like the shape and the idea of the fruit hanging.
Here's a couple of ideas - You might find that if you have the tree trunk and branches brown, you will get more colour contrast for your leaves and fruit - but this may only be necessary for photos, not in real life - or is that Lego life?.
You might add a few more fallen fruit on the ground too - my yard and the local orchard often have plenty of windfalls prior to picking. My peach tree really sheds fruit if there is a heavy wind!
Cheers

Re: Trees
Thank you for the ideas! As far as picture quality, (1) the digital camera I was using isn't the best quality--though it is usually adequate, (2) the wood is black rather than brown because I was orginally going to use Aragog/dinosaur leg/tail pieces for the branches but when I tried them they were way too big, (3) the lighting was not the best. I'll keep those things in mind for next time and see if I can improve the quality.bannear wrote: Here's a couple of ideas - You might find that if you have the tree trunk and branches brown, you will get more colour contrast for your leaves and fruit - but this may only be necessary for photos, not in real life - or is that Lego life?.

I had also thought about adding fallen fruit, but I only had two or three more of the 1x1 round plates in dark blue that I used for the plums, so I just left it that way for consistency. However, I suppose if it was already fallen fruit, it could be black to represent rotting!

Walnuts do grow on trees. I have had several walnut trees.Umgarla wrote:That's nice, but I as far as I know walnuts are grown on a bush, not a tree... I think...

I really like those a lot. I would change the tree itself a little though, for each one. the trees themselves should be different shapes - walnuts trunks/bark are more grey for instance. I think plum trees (like nectarines and peaches) branch out closer to the ground than orange or lemon trees.
come to think of it the orange trees around here all seem like giant bushes, while the lemon trees are more vertical. hmmm I'll see about getting some pics.
anyways, I love the fruit/nut ideas. those are awesome.

That's OK, I should have looked at that myself before I made such a short tree! I was looking for something else to put on the tree, and also wanted to find a use for those lime 1x1 round plates.David C. wrote:
