Blacksmith shop by Sphere&Co
Hi all,
Japanese builder Sphere&Co has recently posted this blacksmith shop. The interior is packed with detail and it has a really interesting shape, but the coolest thing about this is the way it opens up in slices so that you can access any portion of the inside.

Nice-looking building, and, as already noted, a really intriguing design...
But what really captured my attention was the figs. I love the incongruous mix of torsos spanning the decades, and the similar variety of faces...
I guess it's not really an unusual feature, but it caught my eye for some reason.

I found the roof to be really nice as well, for some strange reason I really like roofs and this one has a great one!!!

Of course the way it opens... I haven't seen that before I think, very creative...
Oh, and I think I saw a black 2x2 flag on the roof near the chimney. What it's for I don't know, perhaps some of the design didn't make it possible to place a slope there...

Good eye. I don't se any reason why a 33 degree slope wouldn't work there, so I think he must have meant this to be functional. Perhaps this can be opened to clear out smoke or something? It is right by the forge area, so perhaps it would need ventilation.
Btw, psu-erikson's bakery similarly swings open in a couple of places for interior access (I was just looking in detail at that last night).

Cool shop. At first when I saw it, I thought it boring, but on seeing its insides I must say that it is awesome, if somewhat crowded.
There is such a great amount of detail for such a little set, and I think the slicing thing cool, a good way to access it. Also the colourization, while bland, goes well with the feel of it.

"Packed with details" is an understatement!
I really like the detail on the inside, the way he did the wall around the windows on the end, the shape of the roof, and the technic for opening it up.
I think he could have done a bit better job on the wattle-and-daub in the gable, though.

Same here. I do wonder, though, if the fig would look as respectible with the helm visor down, because part of what makes him look better is the different head. He might look just as good with the visor down, though, because the substiution of a Forestman shield for the weird (sorry, Freak) monkey shield makes a big difference as well. The thing that impressed me the most though, is how the builder got the green KK2 fig (Danju?) to look like a respectable knight.
