Hello!

That's probably good. At least the black Falcons got a reasonable ballista finally.

But there should really be a warning notice on BrickShelf, before you are uploading a picture. Something like this:

"Please Pictures no bigger than 1024×768 pixels!
Blurry pictures? Delete them and take a new one, that's the big advantage of digital photography!
Blurry pics are not getting better if the picture is as big as possible, quite the contrary."

But that's off topic, sorry.

The design is quite nice. Its simple, and allthough it isn't functional, it looks good. Its too bad that the photographs are so large!

I typically prefer functional seige weapons, but the design of this ballista is just too nice to ignore! That's some good work.

Later.

Sweet. I like that design. Its somewhat better than the octopus tentacle end one. Plus this is just a smigen bigger, and to me looks a bit more realistice. I will have to see if I can make some.

I really like this design :D . I am all for simplicity. This would be easy enough to mass produce. It would be nice if it worked, but hey the minifig bow & arrow does not work  .
Let them come...
They will break upon this fortress like water on rock!

I saw this on Brickshelf late last night and was sitting next to a table full of Lego so built a copy - very nice design. Simple and looks good.
As an aside, with a 3 year old around I am trying to avoid functional - trips to the vet hospital or hospital could ensue - don't want to pay for Lego extractions

Thats a simple little thing but I prefer functionality!
It's actually pretty easy to make a simple, yet functioning ballista (rubber band included). Though the aerodynamics of a lego spear aren't that good. About half the time it will flip around or turn sideways in the air.
I'll have to post some pics of mine in the future.

I msut agree wtih others that it would be better if it functioned but it's still a very nice design. As someone else said it's simple enough to mass prduce. The nyou can have just a few funcioning ones.

I may have to use this idae if I ever get around to building a siege army.

Thanks for sharing!
