The latest moc using 30056 to create a diagonal fence got me started on these designs.
Here are some designs for a straight fence starting from the left with a basic configuration, followed by some variations.
With a 32x32 baseplate, here are some variations that I came up with.

I still remember the gardens at Versaille when I visited awhile back.Mr. D wrote:Hehe, that's great! Those would work well for some fancy pallace.

Most definitely appropriate for them and I intend to use some in an MOC that I'll be working on.Norro wrote:Great stuff as always...

It's 30562 and that maybe fine from the top view. But there would be gaps in between the bricks at some connections. Gardens are what I had in mind for these.bannear wrote:Nice ideas AC.
You could replace the fences with the solid piece 48096 (I think) and build some very interesting walls or towers usign these ideas. The fences would be great for formal gardens outside the keep.

Actually I was thinking of
http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/48092,
but certainly the larger pieces http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/30562 would be less parts.
I was thinking that this central shape:

These elongated peanuts:

or these:

Could be done with the solid pieces mentioned and create and interesting tower or tower top. I may look into it after my lego budget grows again.
Good luck with your gardens
Cheers
