Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

Whoever MuffinToa is, they seem to be primarily a Bionicle fan, but they built this great staircase

Nice use of those wedge pieces, assuming that's what they are. I'd pretty much written them off as essentially useless for Castle, but once again I'm reminded that it is the extremely rare piece that is totally useless.

A very intesting idea. It seems to go along the lines of Sava's only with thin pieces. I very good MOC.

Nice use for those parts. To make them higher you could double up each wedge to make each step 2 plates high.

Yup, you'd need to make the steps higher in order to use it for minifigs... I think...

I don't think that the height is a problem, but the placement of studs does make it very difficult to pose figs on the steps. Who cares, though. It's a beautiful addition to any castle structure.

Nice staircase Muffin Toa.
I really like the use of staircases as an main keep entryway or throne room. This one would look good in either case. I like the look with the foliage below as well - adds a very nice feel to it.

Oi... It feels weird saying this in a topic I didn't start, but thanks for the compliments! (yes, I am MuffinToa on Brickshelf)

I'm working on a castle at the moment, and I was planning to use a heightened version of these in one of the staircases. I'm also planning to build an indoor courtyard around it, based on a design at my local art museum. Thanks!

To quote something I once read on Brickshelf, "Further proof that there is no such thing as a useless part."

EDIT: Grah! Me, of all people, forgetting credit where credit is due: SavaTheAggie's spiral staircase design was the original inspiration for this.
