Hey All,
This MOC was an entry for the battles contest but since I am running it now, it is no longer eligible. So I thought I would share it here and find out what you all think of it. It is a raid by Black Falcons on a small church. They are interupted by a group of classic knights led by Sir Bruce Dragonsbane, my avatar fig. Comments are welcome!

That's quite the battle. I'm not sure I like how the KK1 stained glass window looks, though. The flames look really good.

That is a great battle there. My favorite aspect is that it is built on a small baseplate, and that half of that is taken up by the church. So the action that is going on is really dense and chaotic, like I think a real medieval meele would be.
I really do not like the KKII stained glass window, partly because the dark gray frame doesn't blend well, also becuase I think that would have been the first thing that the BF's would've destroyed when the got there! I would try putting just some different colored transparent tiles in the window frame, and scatter them outside of the church too.
I love the flames everywhere! This is really a great battle.
The only thing I dont' like are the mass of light gray helmets, I've never liked those, but obviously I cannont hold that against you.

I love the sight of the burning church, not because its a burning church, but because you captured the image of one so well.
I also love the contrast between your classic knight and the Falcons, particularly the fact that the Falcons are the baddies. So much stuff around here has them as the heroes.
On the topic of the stained glass window, I think it would have looked better with a light grey frame. Now, I suppose it is entirely possible that you don't own any of those, but if you did it would be an improvement.

Looks like those heathen Black falcons are up to no good!
The fire looks Fantastic!!!
The Church grounds look really nice & I like the cross you put out front. The stained glass window fits in well and the Classic Knights showing up completes the battle scene very well!

Hey All,
Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them. You guys are right, the frame of the stained glass window doesn't fit. The funny thing about this church is that I built it years ago. Here is the brickshelf folder (warning! fuzzy big pics taken before I learned how to photograph Lego!): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=27124
It was my first MOC that turned out how I intended it to, which is why I kept it together for so long. However, recently I needed the roof so it was removed. I kept the church around, fully intending to rebuild it and make it better. Before I could, the Black Falcons attacked it and killed the attending friar. Even the timely intervention of Sir Bruce and his men could not save the historic building. I am meaning to build another with a matching window and using whatever new skills I have developed over the last three or four years, but we will see.

I think the battle is great and the flames give a nice effect. The only thing I don't like are the trees since the trunk doesn't look right and the leaves look a bit too flat. Great battle seen though.
