Double, Double, Toil and Trouble...

Post by Snap Dracone »

Act IV, Scene I.
Thunder. Enter the Three Witches.

First Witch.
Round about the cauldron go,
In the poisoned entrails throw,
Toad, that under cold stone
Days and nights has thirty one,
Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' th' chamèd pot.

All. Double, double, toil and trouble,
Fire burn and cauldron bubble!

Second Witch. Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake,
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a h*ll-broth boil and bubble!

All. Double, double, toil and trouble,
Fire burn and cauldron bubble!

Third Witch. Scale of dragon, tooth of wolf,
Witch's mummy, maw and gulf
Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark,
Root of hemlock digg'd i' th' dark,
...
Add thereto a tiger's chaudron
For the ingredience of our cauldron.

Witches vanish.

Thank you, ladies, that was a lovely introduction.
Now, if you somehow hadn't guessed, this is a vignette of the Witches' Haunt from Act 4, Scene 1 of Macbeth.

I daresay it was fun to make, especially the landscaping. Note the charred ground underneath the fire. So, comments and suggestions appreciated...

I really like the landscaping on that!

I don't like the witches. I've always thought of them as being ugly.

Good job making the witches look evil. The whole thing is very dark.

Great job of making the scene from the nameless play.
I like how you made the extra witches. The landscaping is quite nice too. Keep up the good work.

Very cool. Blogged!

I really like this on two levels. First as a vignette. You really used the space well, with the tree, details like the spider and frog, and the varied ground (I like the sand green/gray/blay mix a lot). Second as a Shakespeare MOC. There aren't a whole lot of Shakespeare-themed creations I know of. I've done a couple. There's Lenny's Globe(esque) theater, plus ones by Reed Anderson and Tboneloser22. I know of this Hamlet and another. I also recently saw this Romeo and Juliet. Then there's this fig. Other than those, I don't know of others off-hand. I hope you continue in this theme, as this is an area ripe for MOCery.

Very nice. I too like the landscaping. The charred ground was a very nice touch... attention to detail. And the tree is very well done, especially for being a bare tree. I'd love to see some more Shakespeare vignettes. I was thinking this piece Image would make a good toga for a Caesar stabbing scene.
