another version of the CC city walls...

Post by medib »

I just wanted to post that I seen a nice version
by William Howard, with a nice hollow inside.

I so want to do something like this in the very
near future.

Just trying to stay awake. I am currently working a
14.5 hour work night.

Thanks,
Ben M.

Hey Ben,

I'm not so sure I'd call it a version of the 3CS walls - but definately a different standard using similiar principles.

I saw this folder on BS - it is some good stuff. I love anything creation that aspires to be an entire medieval town!

modular castle walls

Post by Magnus »

These castle walls are more similar to the new ones I'm building. My modules are about 10 bricks high plus a 4 brick battlement, and 4 to 6 bricks thick. I use the 1 by 2 by 3 or 2 by 2 by 3 slopes at the base of my walls beneath the wall sections.

This obviouslyuses far more brick, but makes for walls which are much more realistic in size. Building lego catsles is all about playing with scale to create an illusion of size; a real scale lego catsle would require more bricks than most of us have.

Very nice stuff, keep building!

oh...

it wasn't mine. It is William Howard's. It won't be until
January until I really start towards building this.

At the moment, I am far too busy and want to concentrate on other things.

I really like it, that's why I highlighted it here.

Thanks for the comments.

I recently re-organised my walls folders so the link broke

Here is the new one http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=95853

I now have 4 wall types - 15 high, 9 high, 9 high narrow and 6 high. The last should be CCC compatible. Also in the folders are ideas for connecting the different heights to each other for complete "turn up with what you've got and we'll fit it in somehow" approach to planning :D
